Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1945- Members of the 237th Medium Ordnance Maintenance Company in Hawaii shown with their “streamlined jeep” made from two wrecked jeeps, discarded chromium, and four “belly-type” auxiliary gas tanks discarded by the Air Force.”
This June 19, 1942, Milwaukee Journal article describes early farm jeep tests at the Auburn facility.
I’ve seen plenty of Marx Jeeps, but finding one with an original box is rare.
“Vintage MARX WILLYS JEEP Pressed Steel Toy Car + Box *EX* (USA) Neat and hard to find 11″ pressed steel Willys Jeep in original box. This toy would rate as the cleanest one I have ever seen except for the front grill area where I’m guessing the paint reacted and flaked off. Other than the grill issue this toy is bright and shiny as day one with a crisp and clean box to match. Good luck. NO RESERVE!”

(02/10/2015) Sounds like this might have some interesting history.
“Up for sale is my 1943 Willys MB army jeep. It was motor pool refurbished by a WWII veteran and friends. I bought it from his son after he passed on. When I bought it I cleaned the fuel tank and lines and installed a new fuel pump. It runs okay but the engine needs a tune up. Brakes work good. Transmission runs quietly, but shifts poorly from 1st to second, and back. Tub was rusty but repaired. Needs new wiring, and generator rebuilt. Lights don’t work. Have speedometer and other gauges, but aren’t in great shape. Needs shocks. Comes with new NDT tires. Also have 5 combat wheels that go with it. This jeep has lots of extras. Clear open title. Reenactment quality. $12,500. I like to trade, but don’t ask unless you have a delorean or clean jeep wrangler /sahara that is paid for. Price is firm, I don’t have to sell. Don’t need a job, or help selling it. As always, local pickup and cash only. Serious inquiries only”

(08/28/2015) “1953 cj3b with a 1965 ford 289 and toploader 4 spd. Advance adapters headers and adapter to old twin stick tranfer case with warn overdrive. Lots of stainless steel hardward ..griffin radidator, spal fan, newer stronger postal jeep frame customized to match original frame. Its a project. well built well worth looking st in person.“
