Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Doug found this neat old fire jeep.
“CJ5 Jeep converted to fire truck for fighting grass fires by Creston, Ohio, fire dept in about 1960. Factory installed rear power take-off drives a water pump. Water tank installed in back seating area.
16″ wheels.
I purchased this Jeep from Creston in March 1990 at their yearly fire dept auction. 10,790 miles on odometer. I drove this Jeep from Creston to my home and it has been driven only on my property for enjoyment; never licensed. Always stored inside.
Fire accessories shown in photos such as the helmets, fire fighting water back packs, etc., are also for sale.”

Recent brake and engine work with receipts for work
in excess of $7000. Runs good, repainted early ’80’s.
New in box gas tank included. Top is old, windows cloudy.
