1951 CJ-3A Soldotna, AK $4800

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Unusual rear cargo setup.

“This is an all original stock civilian Jeep except for the electric fuel pump that has been installed.
All lights, instruments, horn works. Engine is very strong, does not burn oil. Runs rough while warming up but smooths out in five minutes. It has a small oil leak on the engine rear seal.
The only things that don’t work are the emergency brake and the drivers side vacuume driven windshield wiper because it was run off the original fuel / vacuume pump. Original fuel pump is still on the engine but needs to be replaced.
It has three fuel tanks, two under the seats and one in the rear.
It drives great and is a lot of fun with two speed transfer case to crawl around in low range.
Odometer says 11,000 miles but is probably 111,000.
Someone took good care of this Jeep. It was stored inside a shop when I bought it.
You can get historic licence plates for a one time fee of $10 that never need to be renewed.
Call or email if you have any questions.”

1951 CJ-3A Glenburn, ME **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.

Not running at the moment.

“1951 Jeep Willys, purchased by my father three years ago. It was running just over two years ago before he passed, and has been sitting since. As far as I know, it’s not running now (although I wouldn’t know how to get it running anyway). It was a project in process.
We know nothing about it other than what we paid for it, and what it was worth to him. He was a jeeping enthusiast who belonged to many local 4wd clubs, and would not have wanted it if it were junk. His intent was to refurbish it and use it as a mild wheeler and for special interest meets. As I said, he was driving it just over two years ago. If you’re a SERIOUS enthusiast and buyer (as he was), you are welcome to come take a look.
NO TIRE KICKERS. No trades.”

1959 CJ-3B Houston, TX $850

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Engine is blown.

“I have a great 59 cj3b jeep also known as a high hood. Not a great candidate for a perfect restoration but would be great for a hunting jeep or off road rig. Motor blew and po removed it and the radiator. The rest is complete. In the last few years a new gas tank and guage cluster was installed along with a few other parts. Body is pretty good but not rust free. Front floors are solid rear mda attention. Body is cracked by spare tire. All tires hold air. I was gonna put in a Buick 225 to replace he factory 4cyl but need to spend the time on my business. Currently loaded on my trailer and I can deliver for a fee or if close we can work something out. I have a bill of sale from the po and am willing to provide one myself. ”

Italy to Toledo in 2013 — Now the Turin Museum in 2015

IMG_1320

UPDATE: You might remember the 2013 adventure of a pair of Italians who bravely drove their MB from Italy to Toledo. Ann and I nearly met them along their trip to the east coast, but our timing was a little off. Well, the pair received a post-trip honor. I’ll let Gregory explain:

A couple of years ago you were kind enough to publicize a trip undertaken by two half-witted Italians to drive back to Toledo an original Willys to MB so that it could celebrate its 70th birthday in its hometown.

Some in the Ewillys community might like to know that the adventure has found a degree of official recognition by being included in the “Modus Vivendi” (Way of Life”) exhibition which runs until 27 September at the Turin Auto Museum, in company of vehicles which have raced the Panamericana, re-enacted the Beijing-Paris race or crossed Africa from Algiers to Cape Town. Our New York to Toledo drive was among the shortest, but also the one performed by the oldest car and the only one by enthusiasts with no sponsorship.

I am attaching a couple of pictures of the display and a description of the exhibition. Sadly the Museum website is rather thin on details, but more information about the trip, car and crew can be found on our “A Jeep Comes Home” blog and the similarly-titled Facebook page.

Thanks for your excellent website and the services it provides to the Jeep community worldwide.  –Gregory Alegi

As you can see in the photo, the jeep shows pretty well against the backdrop of some fancier vehicles (Note to Ann — Honey, if this isn’t a good reason to go to Italy, I can’t think of another ….)
