Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Bob spotted this today at an antique store. It was $199! One of these sold on eBay a few years ago.
Maury scanned and shared this CJ-5 Brochure. It is easy to forget how many accessories were offered for the CJ-5 in 1970. Of course, this doesn’t include other aftermarket parts that were available.
That’s some serious mud.

Original Parts: Body, Frame, Suspension. Everything else is modern(ish). This has been my daily driver for the past 5 1/2 years and is very reliable. Recently had the entire exterior sandblasted and it’s now wearing a 2-part epoxy primer. No rust. Lots of small dings, nothing major. If you want to win “Best of Show,” this isn’t for you. At least until you finish the body work. Lots of extra original parts including the door handles, although they’re only decorative. (Remote door locks.) $9400 OBO”
