Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Willys CJ2 with extra seats and roll bar. Floor pan has some rust, windshield in good shape. Original engine, last started about 3 years ago. Motor turns freely, but I haven’t started it. Gas tank behind rear seat. Brush grille on front and tow bar installed. Was going to restore it, but don’t have the time or skills.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500. listed as a CJ-3A, it looks more like an M-38. Has some updates.

Good body minimal rust, 350 Chevy, newer edelbrock, Muncie 4 speed hurst shifter, Ramsey shaft drive winch, drum brakes bled, adjusted and work perfectly, hydraulic clutch, fresh Hercules liner, upgraded steering, all lights work. Great driving well sorted little truck, just got it out of storage. ”

It’s project that may be worth a look. Has a mix of M-38 and 2A parts.
“Selling my 53 cj3a Willys it’s a pretty clean jeep but does need to be finished I had the original motor rebuilt by Clifton park engine rebuilders that cost $1900 and have receipt was running and driving good shifts good good transfer case motor needs to be finished its in the jeep just needs water pump distributer etc have all parts to finish cones with next to new top and doors too $4000”

“1946 Willys CJ2a. Motor turns over, tranny not locked up, does not like to shift. axles good as far as I can tell frame has patches on front. Has 5 good original wheels. Was going to build an off road only trailer queen but interests have wandered. I have new aluminum replacement radiator and good replacement for wind shield frame.”
