(04/15/2016) Looks like a clean rebuild.
“1946 Willys CJ-2A fully restored. This is a non-military model. Complete ground up/frame off restoration on this vehicle. The only thing that was not fully rebuilt was the engine (it had plenty of compression and was super clean). Differentials, transmission, and transfer case have all new gears, bearings, and seals. New master brake cylinder along with new brakes and brake cylinders at all four wheels. New clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing. Synthetic lube in all gear boxes and silicone brake fluid. Tires are new non directional tires and it has always been garaged since it was completed. Over $15,000 worth of parts were used (not including labor and materials such as welding rods, hardware, etc). System was converted from 6V to 12V and turn signals were added. The rest of the vehicle is original. Two and a half years were spent putting this all together and it looks factory new. Great to take to shows. Gets a lot of attention.
Complete proceeds from the sale of this Willys will be going to our church. Asking $20,000, which is a more than fair price given all that was done to this vehicle.”

I’m sorry to report that Bruce Agan passed away after a short fight with cancer yesterday in Iowa.
We first exchanged emails in 2009. He generously shared a large amount of DJ-related info for eWillys readers. Over the ensuing years he became a go-to-guy for anything DJ-3A, Gala, or Surrey related. In 2012, he started the site http://www.jeepsurreygala.com, which contains a large amount of DJ info. I had hoped to stop by and visit with him during one of our trips, but I hadn’t got the chance.
So, we bid a farewell to our good friend. Perhaps he’s already busy discussing the finer points of the Surrey with Elvis. Here’s the surrey that Bruce restored, one of several jeeps he owned.
Deserves more pics. Has a number of mods.

“Up for sale we have a 1963 Willys CJ-3. This vehicle is in need of a total restoration but will make a great project or parts car. The jeep has not run in years but was running well when last parked. Please feel free to call or text with any questions. More pictures available upon request.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $5500. Looks like a great price.
The seller indicates this has a government plate, so it may well be a military vehicle.
“1974 Army Jeep that is rare and the last of the Jeeps made for the military. Jeep has been lightly used with a new clutch, brakes, muffler, fuel tank , and canvas top. Lock out hubs for front wheel drive. Original Army brass nomenclature plate.
Includes a snow plow for my driveway and my neighbor’s driveways with a manual angle blade. Will plow any storm and traverse the deepest of beach sand. Includes six buckets of sand for rear wheel traction.
I have loved this Jeep for seventeen years,
but regret time is catching up.
Pictures available.
Own a piece of history.’
