Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Willys 1945 ¼ ton 4×4. Overland Motors Jeep Division Model MB. Serial #431784. Gross weight 3250. Delivery date 4-3-45. Not military tires, tube 616 4-ply. Frame-off restoration. All original. $22,600 into it, have receipts. Asking $17,500 or best offer.”

This has some unusual mods. It looks like it was updated with some DJ-5 parts.

“Meticulously and authentically restored” 1941 MB? With all due respect to Mr. Weinberg, it’s nicely rebuilt, but this has authenticity shortcomings (the grille, the dash, the wheels, and the gas tank for starters).

This genuine WWII Jeep, which saw service in the European Theater, was meticulously and authentically restored by Max Weinberg to honor the military service of his wife, Beckys, father, uncle, and cousin, whose names and service records within the United States Army Signal Corps are inscribed on the right side of the vehicle.
Mr. Weinberg personally researched the history of the Jeep with the Department of defense and its history is documented. The markings, numbers, and military insignias are true to its original configuration. We have never seen a military Jeep restored to such a high standard.

“Up for sale I have an original Ford GPW Engine.
The serial number places it in 1943.
The engine has been refreshed, with a new gasket kit, new valves (omix ada), new timing chain (omix ada), and new points for the distributor.
Although not pictured, included is the oil rod, oil spout, flywheel, and the piece of metal that goes between the engine and the flywheel.”
This was published around 1950. It’s less story and more marketing, but still interesting. The argument that the trencher doesn’t affect the roadability of the jeep might be a stretch ….
Starting bid is $680.
“You are bidding on an original slat grill for a 1941 Willys slat grille Jeep. This also includes (2) headlight brackets& 2 small Lt housing.
Brackets are out of shape ,a small stress cracks, Frozen Hinges. One Lt Housing rusted out.
Colorado Ranch Find. Light Rust, Some Original Paint here and there. One Slat is Loose.
Overall pretty decent shape – a great grill to use on your restoration.”

(10/02/2017) Dan spotted this late model truck, manufactured not too long before the switch to the Gladiator.
“Im selling my 1963 Willys pickup because I’ve moved and no longer have room for it. I found it sitting next to someones garage it had been there for a while. My son drove it for the next 6 months it had no problems. We then would drive it around occasionally, We moved to a house with a smaller garage and no longer have room for it. The previous owners had a ton of work done to it, its mostly original its just missing the factory bumpers and I believe it has A aftermarket bed.”
Does not indicate that it runs.
