Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The Portland Swapmeet is this weekend. Ted spotted a couples items.
First up, this project CJ-2A with a fiberglass(?) body. Only $500.

For $500 I’d probably bring that home
For $35K, Id expect the neon to be reinstalled and lit too. Was probably a neat sign in its day.
$3500…. on the sign would be a realistic price
Yeah, 35K for a sign with no neon is above even Barrett Jackson prices!!! $3500 is more like it.
The guy with the sign was completely convinced of it’s value, and in fact stated if it doesn’t sell. he will take it to Barrett-Jackson. The $500 Jeep sold, and minutes later was advertised about half a mile away at another booth for $2300. That was too much for what was there.
