“I believe this to be a 1947 CJ2A but not sure on the year. I bought it for parts the body and frame were rusted beyond repair. The engine ran like a sewing machine I only needed the trans so I put oil in the cylinders and put it under my building and covered it. But after sitting in there for over 20 years it is stuck. I believe if someone wanted it for the external parts it is well worth my asking price. I have lots of other parts for these Willys jeeps. I also have a building full of vintage auto parts ,mostly Chevy some Ford etc. I would make someone a good deal on a bunch of parts. I need to tear down the building everything needs gone. Located 3 miles southwest of Whitesburg,KY.”
Roberto Flores shared this magazine ad, reprinted in a book.
Roberto wrote: “I have just scanned this image from “The American Jeep in War and Peace”, by Kurt Willinger and Gene Gurney, Crown Publishers. I love the image: at least for me it depicts my idea of jeep: adventure, freedom, friendship, nature… Although I have been searching for this at the net, I couldn´t find it.”
Mitchell is looking for a DJ-3A hardtop for his DJ-3A Dispatcher. He’s located in the midwest. Since he has the delivery body and windshield, the best match might be the Koenig made tops with the sliding doors. Here’s Mitchell’s project:
Here’s the hardtop that would work with his windshield. These pics come from the CJ-3B page:
This is the CJ-5 version. The window ads extra visibility. I’m pretty sure that this top will fit the DJ as well. Anyone actually tried this?
Interesting truck with what appears to be a custom bed that’s longer than stock?

This is a former ice-racing jeep. This could well be worth a look at this price.
“Titled as 1964 Jeep CJ five, has 1978 CJ5 frame in axles, Dana 30 front with disc brakes and 4:88 gears, Dana 20 rear axle was solid axles and power lock with 4:88 gears, 400 small block Chevy with aluminum intake and edelbrock carb MSD 6AL ignition, Turbo 400 transmission and Dana 300 transfer case, full cage rollbar, the complete body except the windshield frame is fiberglass. This jeep was used for ice racing in Georgetown Colorado so it has steering brakes on the front brakes and a line lock steering break, the lights are on the jeep but not currently wired for the street. If you want to ice race, this is competitive competition jeep but can also wire the lights and put it on the street.$4000 is a great price for all you were getting. I also have a set of competitive studs for sale and set of Competitive bear rubber tires I would sell.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000.
(01/27/2017) Looks fun. A stretched, custom sand toy. Interesting cage design. That middle loops leans way back.
“1953 Jeep Willys CJ3 Jeep was built for Silverlake and has been stretched 14″ to accommodate room for rear seats and fuel cell. 355 SBC, steel crank, dome pistons, 3500 stall converter, fresh rebuild on t400 trans, J20 rear end, built 455 rear gear. custom cage, 5 point harnesses front and back. Griffen Fab Works built custom suspension that include deaver springs, fox shocks, over 5k invested. Works extremely well in the sand and can eat up most everything Silverlake has to offer. Great opportunity to get into a smooth, safe, and fun ride at Silverlake. ”
