The forward control jeeps are becoming kind of rare and this bed may be just the ticket for the completion of a nice restore project. Or use it as built as a trailer. “An east county San Diego Jeep since it was brand new. This is the “Dispatcher” model, that was originally sold as a 2wd.

This Jeep was professionally converted to 4wd with surplus military M38 parts by Border Parts in Spring Valley. Saginaw steering, Dana 25 front axle, Dana 44 rear, Dana 18 transfer case, and a T90 transmission with Borg Warner overdrive completes this rock-solid suspension and drivetrain conversion.

The engine is a 1964 Ford 260 cid V-8 out of a Fairlane. Engine routinely starts on first crank. A new ring gear on the flywheel, new starter and new clutch were recently installed by Action Cylinder Heads in Santee.
