This April of 1972 article in Boy’s Life Magazine tells the story of the Boys Scouts work project on the Naches Trail in the Cascade Mountains just north of Mt. Rainier in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Four-Wheel-Drive Association. I was not there (that I remember), but our club, the Wandering Willys, including my father, was there to help ferry the Boy Scouts to the Naches Trail.
Over the past couple years I’ve been the beneficiary of some custom magnets created by Maury. I figured it was about time I shared them. I keep them on both sides of a metal bookshelf, but moved them to one side for the photo. Many thanks Maury!
This is a an ad I don’t think I’ve seen. This Adolph Treidler illustration was published in the April 25, 1943, issue of Time Magazine.

“Selling my 1950 Willys Jeep. Runs and drives great. Chevy 350 V8 mated to a TH350 automatic transmission. 5.38 gears. All lights and gauges work, 8k lb. winch works, 4×4, overdrive and low/high work with no issues. Comes with a nice top not listed in pictures. Recently put new rear tires, thermostat, radiator hoses/fluid and fuel line on it. Clean title and ready to go. ”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $5950.
(07/20/2018) Looks like the tub is metal. The hood might be a rare teardrop Bobcat fiberglass hood.

“Had fun with this thing now time for the next toy. This is a forest green 1952 Jeep Willy’s (cj2a I think). Buick engine swap done by last owner. Such a good weekend driver for the summer with the reliable engine (no choke but runs awesome). Comes with full canvas top. Everything works except windshield wipers (needs to be hooked up is all), and there is no parking brake. Basically everything else is there and functional.
It is in good drivable condition and looks great from 30ft. The body is a bit rough under the paint, but it’s old after all. If your looking for something stock to bring back to original glory this is not it… this is the perfect weekend truck for chores, beers, etc.”
Has. variety of updates. Was used as part of owner’s magician business.

“A total of 19,000 Jeepsters were made between 1948 and 1951, but only 1900 were made in 1949. This has been called the last of the American Phaetons. This is not a show car, but a beautiful driver that has been in the family for over 30 years. I have used it in my Magic shows for the last 20 years. It is with great sorrow that I’m selling this part of our family but I am unable to drive it enough to keep; it is time to let someone else enjoy what our family have enjoyed so much.
Many extras: here are just a few
Buick 231 V-6 – very low mileage
Mustang II front end
New custom soft top
New side curtains
Must see to appreciate.
I am a retiring magician, and will be selling my costumes, collections, and working tricks and illusions as well as assorted items I have collected along the way; so many things, so little time, but working on making it yours, not mine.”
