Buying Tips
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I’ve had my eye on this jeep for several weeks now. It lacks an engine. Pieces of the enginre are there as is radiator. What struck my eye was it is a column shift. Now, if only I could find an engine?

There are def engines still around. Might have to be a little patient.

Being a VEC, are there major engine differences between it and a wartime military Jeep?
What amazes me is how solid many of these projects are, even after apparently being outside for decades.
Much better condition than most cars would be under similar circumstances.

I had a 46 2A column shift that was in very good shape which I sold to buy the 45 2A I currently have.
I have a slew of photos of the 46 but am not good on posting photos. The 46 was bone stock and had been repainted previously. I rubbed out the paint by hand and it turned out well. It took awhile as I had to take breaks often due to hand cramps.
If you can contact me I would be happy to send the photo file to you for reference.
I would only send the photos to Jim for his reference, so please don’t ask me to send photos to anyone else.
