1946 Jeep CJ $16,000 Clifton, NJ

Navy tribute build. It looks like a neat rig. Looks like it would do well in local celebrations and would be a neat feature at local shows. Not for the 100pt original club, but I think its well done overall and looks like they did a good job on the build.

Is it just me, or is the price a bit high for a parade Jeep?
Probably a good price for a CORRECT restored CJ-2…
and a very good price for a CORRECT MB/GPW….

But a bit high for a neither fish or fowl truck.
It will take new paint (lots of money) and holes filled for it to be a nice CJ.

Also, since it is from an estate, who knows how long it has seen since it ran regularly?
The fuel stain under the filler doesn’t give me a lot of confidence.

Kooda fueled me John. Close enuff fer my novice eye…since yer the expert, can you tell what that bellcrank operates? It’s on the far side of the engine pic, near the battery. Or maybe it’s just another counterfeit item.

    Score
My comment was pretty self explanatory.
Not a fan of faux military Jeeps.
For that money, I’d rather have a CJ that looks like a CJ.
If you want a military Jeep, buy a MB GPW…heavens knows there are a lot out there that could use this level of TLC.

Looks pretty nice to me. All these CJ jeeps right now are priced too high. Not safe on road, too slow, no real protection. Little toys. Some nicer than others. These old Willys also need to be kept inside for most part of the country. John is right. When buying an old willys you want to know as much about it as you can, as far back as you can go. And that information can add value to the jeep.

Kids these days want 4 runners. You turn the key and it goes.
