Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. As can be seen in the pictures, this was a project started many years ago before the value as an historic vehicle was given consideration. The body has some Bondo here and there, but you’ll be hard pressed to find any rust or any damage to the body or frame. Unlike alot of other WWII Vehicles out there, with a moderate amount of effort, this particular WWII vehicle can be restored fairly easy. The engine and drive train are original to this chassis and have been reconditioned/rebuild and the only modifications are the Alternator, Air Cleaner and Oil Filter (All 3 original units come as spares). The only other mods are the front seats with the originals in the back, the gas tank, which is not connected, the front brakes are now disc type, the currently mounted steering wheel is a CalCustom unit, but the original steering wheel is also included. NEW Side Curtains and Top with bBows included and comes with a later 1963 Utility Trailer. Clean un-dated and signed title to both vehicles. The owner has passed away and I’m advertising the Jeep for the family located in Walnut, California who has Power of Attorney for any other legal docs you may desire. It is strongly believed the vehicle is drivable but you will have to bring tools, battery and gas to make sure, otherwise SOLD AS IS. Buyer must also arrange pick-up in Walnut, California. The family would also like the prospective buyers to understand that it is a hassle to accept a deposit, cancel this ad and then not have the sale go through, so please understand that the two vehicles are subject to 1st come, 1st served. ” Up for auction is a solid start to a cool Rat rod! The project begins with a 1949 Willys pick-up cab w/attached short box mounted on a modified Model A chassis. The chassis has been Zd 4″ in front and 6″ in the rear and the cab has been dropped 6″ and 2″ has been removed from the bottoms of the doors and cowl. The front axle has split wishbone radius rods w/drop mounted spring perches and the original Willys steering box is already mounted. The rear is set up with new tubular radius rods w/brackets for 12″ coil-overs and has a 10 bolt Chevy rear-end. The cab has a full perimeter brace installed and both doors open and close correctly. Please keep in mind that this is a project, but it is also a great opportunity to start with a solid rolling chassis.”

“Last chance on this old Jeep FC150 before it heads to the scrap yard, this is a BIG project that I have been holding onto for sometime now but I’m parting ways with the old jeep habit and cleaning up shop. NO TITLE, does not run but motor is not locked up, tires hold air and it does roll fairly easily to load onto a trailer. Major rust issues between the body and the roof line, no rear window. This has a hydraulic dump bed on it but have never tested the pump but the bed does move up and down. These are very hard to find and this would be a nice project but again…it will require a ton of work. If interested, best bet is to come and look at it in person as I will not be sending any additional pictures. It’s rough and if you think you may want it just send me an email with your contact info and I’ll get back to you so you can come and look it over. If it’s not sold by next week, unfortunately it will be heading to the scrap yard but I thought someone may want to give it a home before it heads to it’s grave never to be seen again.”

(06/10/2012) The paint job isn’t all that nice (especially the engine compartment) and I suspect that isn’t the original bumper, but otherwise this looks pretty stock.
