UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800

“Kaiser Willys 1955 CJ5. First year of the civilian CJ5’s, 215 V8 Buick motor with 2bbl carb, new battery this spring, 3 Spd tranny, Overdrive, front tow hitch, 60’s era bucket seats. Except for the motor and overdrive I believe this jeep to be fairly stock. I have some 31-10.50-15 tires on it with fair tread. Standard 9 in brakes so expect what you get for brakes with the 9″ drums and 1955 brakes designs. Runs and drives. Some rust peeking through paint with a split on top just behind hood. Bimini top and full soft top with two sets of doors. Soft top is fair. Keeps the weather out but rear window could be replaced as it is cracked. Asking $1800 cash and will only sell local. Can be used as is or would be a base for a builder if desired. My original desire was to build it up but just ended up using it stock for the past 8 or 9 years. Please respond to ad and I will get back with you. Thanks for looking.”

UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was priced at $1600.

The price on this looks good.  I had to do a double take on the “dashboard is in great condition”, because I spotted the wooden instrument panel.  I think what Marty means is the dash is in very good shape, but this needs a new gauge panel to look correct.

Front floor boards have been replaced

“The dashboard is in great condition with no cuts or holes made to it. The glass is ok, one of the windshields has a split and one of the wing widows has a crack. All other glass is good. Has original working heater.Tires are good. Has a few small dents/dings but no major damage or rust. (Keep in mind it’s 58 years old!) Has collector plates.”

I don’t exactly know why this turned up in my search today, but what the heck.  I’ll post anyway.  It is supposed to be Jewel Stainless, too.  At least one conversion calculator puts the price of this at around $2400.

NOS Bestop for CJ-5 on eBay

At first I thought this was a LEVI top, but on closer reading I discovered the color is Levi Tan.

“Paradise Jeep brings you another RARE find:  This is a NOS (new old stock) soft top for a Jeep CJ-5 (1976-1983) made by Bestop (this model is called the “Royal Craftsman”, and was Bestop’s best offering at the time).  It was branded as a luxury top, with many thoughtful quality touches not found on the basic entry level soft tops.  The color is Levi Tan.  It is MINT- except for the one small mouse hole in the roof of the soft top as seen.  Easily fixed with a patch.  If you need one, I will include a piece of matching genuine Levi material for you to use as a patch if you wish.  This is in excellent/perfect condition with the exception of that one blemish.  Shipping to be $30.  Good luck and Happy Jeeping!  Please see my other NOS Jeep items listed!”
