• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  Price dropped to $1200

(03/02/2012) It runs and drives, but it’s got a serious patch on the driver’s side.

“This is your last opportunity to own this 1949 Willys CJ2A in the original condition. 4cyl. 3 speed. 4X4. 4WD works good in high and low. No lockouts to mess with. Runs good. Drives good. New battery. Good frame. Good clutch. Body rough. Title and license current. Great project. All the parts are still available to completely rebuild how you want or would be a great trail or farm rig. I have manuals for parts and rebuild that you can have also. Asking $2000.00 or best CASH offer. Would possibly be willing to trade for motorcycles any year or old cars and trucks pre 1969. I also like Monte Carlos 1983-1988. 4/15/12 I will start the restoration so please call or text today (641)-670-0713. No emails please.”

Prototype top on MB?

• CATEGORIES: News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Bob forwarded me this image.  We both felt the top looked more designed for GP, Bantam or Quad than for a MB/GPW.

Bob writes, “A woman at work gave me a small print today. Said it was in her aunt’s stuff when she died. It was taken around 1947. Looks like an MB sporting it’s combat wheels. It was her boyfriend who drove the jeep. He was int he Navy at the time, but I don’t know if it was his Jeep or the Navy’s. I think the top is pretty cool”

Gerald forwarded this story of the Jeeper Vineyards, the full text of which is on Autoblog.  The story is from spring 2011.

“To help commemorate the 60th anniversary of Jeep, vineyard Jeeper has teamed up with Delta 4×4, a company well-known in Europe for aftermarket wheels, tires and other offroad accessories, to produce a limited-edition champagne.”

Tuxedo Park Mark IV Package for CJ-5 Questions

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

A reader had a few specific questions about the Tuxedo Park Mark IV Page related to a jeep he’s considering buying, but needs to know the following:

1. The CJ-5 is missing the chrome rear bumper.  Was the rear bumper also used on any other models? How hard is it to find a replacement.

2. The column shift assembly is missing and it is the stock three speed.  Where these the same ones used on the DJ or Surrey or any other models?

3.  Did all Mark IV Pages have a V6 and the Emblem on the side as shown below (from the early CJ-5 Page)?

If anyone has the answers offhand, that would be great.
