This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The winch setup looks unusual … or is it a plow setup?

This has a variety of updates.
“1942 Ford GPW almost identical to a Willys CJ2A.
~Engine is a Ford 289 with a 2 barrel carb.
~T90 transmission that I rebuilt within the last 500 miles
~Dana 18 transfer case
~Original front and rear axles but I have a Dana 44 with a locker, full floating hubs and 11 inch brakes for the rear and another front axle with 11 inch brakes.
~Currently has an all aluminum hard top that was made by a company called Metro.
~Has a back seat with shoulder belts attached to the roll bar for the little ones and lap belts in the front.
~The winch will most likely go with the Jeep it is a Warn 7000lb.
~The rear bumper has a tire carrier, two gas can carriers and brackets that hold a high lift jack. (gas cans and jack are not included).
~Has an aftermarket heater mounted under the drivers seat that provides more than enough heat even on cold days.
~Has a tow bar and wiring (I towed it behind my RV twice).
~Suspension consists of stock Wrangler Leaf springs over the axles on custom hangers. Ride is very soft and very flexible. Drives ok around town but I don’t take it on the freeway.
~Has power steering using parts from a Jeep Cherokee
~Stainless steel gas tank under the passenger seat.
It took me years to put this Jeep together. I have only driven it once in the past year. It is not perfect but it is a very functional off road vehicle. I have had it up to Walker Valley ORV Park twice. Both times it handled all of the trails I was on with ease. The winch works great for towing Samurais back onto there wheels. This has not been abused off road though pretty much just idled around. This is probably not the best daily driver but would make an excellent hunting rig. I am willing to deliver with my car trailer within a reasonable distance. If you are interested come take a look and make me a fair offer.”

Both are projects.
“I have two Willys Jeeps for sale. One is a 1948 Willys Jeep Carry All and the other is a 1950 Willys Overland Jeepster Carry All. I have the titles to both. The 48′ has the original flat head 4 cylinder, but no transmission. The motor has been completely rebuilt, but never fired. The 50′ has no motor, but does have a transmission. Restoration was started, but never finished on both. Bodies are solid, with very little surface rust. They both have been stored in a shed, on concrete for the past several years. I am asking $5000 OBO, which is the price for BOTH.”

“1955 Willys 4×4 Wagon restoration in progress. It has the hurricane straight 6 w/3 spd trans. I purchased the vehicle 10 years ago from guy in Texas. I drove it for a year with a lot of comments about it being a neat truck. I decided to restore it to its original condition. I had the vehicle and the frame along with many components stripped at a cost of $2200. It was recommended it be painted with a zink chromate primer, hence the yellow color. I have all new door and window seals a 12 volt up grade harness, new front floor pans. I had a local shop recommended by the company that stripped the vehicle repair the fenders at a cost of $1000. I have all the glass but not in very good condition. I also found and bought the original front and rear bumpers , they need work. If you add up the numbers I have over $3500 and probably more ??? in restoration not including the cost of the vehicle. I no longer have the finances to finish the project. It’s ready for someone to finish putting it back together. I have 95 % of the parts to finish the restoration. It has been stored in doors since I’ve owned it. I have additional pictures of the vehicle prior to starting the restoration. $3500 takes it all, the vehicle is in northern Michigan. email rstrange81@yahoo.com”
