Brett spotted this M-38. The cage looks good and the body appears to have little rust. This might be a good price.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1100.
Except for the cut out side and the funky seat platform, it doesn’t look all that bad.
“1948 Willys Jeep. Runs good but needs steering sector replaced. I have a good used sector that comes with the vehicle to replace the bad one. Engine, tranny, and drive train are in very good shape. All rebuilt several years ago but not sure of mileage since then. Body/interior is in very poor condition. Motor & tranny are original. Tires are good. Call with questions.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was No Price.
(06/19/2010) This appears in good shape. I don’t see any indication that it has a soft top (no buttons along the side). It appears the data plate is missing or just not installed.
“This is a 1948 jeep that has had a bunch of money put in it in the last few months, it has new brakes, tires, seats, paint ,starter, water pump. on and on, the engine runs great, mechanically it is sound, the body is rough, but the paint is shiney and will stay put”
The price is right.

UPDATE: Price lowered to $11,950
(10/03/09) This is a nice looking Wagon. I thought the use of the background blurs was unusual.
“Call 415-706-4855 or 415-453-0270. 1957 Willys Jeep Wagon. Arguably the first SUV ever made. It has a rebuilt inline 6-226 cubic inch Super Hurricane engine with a 4WD (4-Wheel-Drive) 3-speed transmission. It has gear levers for both front and rear transaxles. The car has 56,337 miles showing on the odometer. It equipped with a removable second row of seats and a manually operated spotlight. It is a beautiful car, owned locally in Marin since 1957. It is priced to sell at $11,950.”
UPDATE; **SOLD** Was $4000
(04/13/2010) I thought this had an unusual paint job. I’m not sure if that’s just a design or an image of some kind.
“Less than 400 miles after extensive professional mechanical overhaul. New: transmission, military tires (5), carburetor, alternator, exhaust, battery, gages. High/Low range and rare front bench seat. Does not have top or doors.”
