1953 M-38 Central Washington $1800

• CATEGORIES: M-38 This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  Still Available.

(03/24/2010) “53 M38 flat fender jeep. Last of the military flat fenders. Has a hard top with data tags. Jeep has a 302 engine in it and it ran when I fired it up. But the master brake cylinder was in need of rebuilding so I never drove it. Body needs work done. Dash has section for emergency brake cut out? and while all gauges are there the plate they mount in is gone. Body is rough. Has larger tires and needs radiator installed. The top in the picture is not the top it has on it now. that was a home made top and like I said it now has a M38 top. Has floating rear axles. Might trade for hunting items or military collectibles or gas station collectibles. I have too many jeeps and trying to clean up around here. Looking also for 48 1 1/2 ton with dump bed for parts.”

Saturday at the Midwest Willys Reunion

• CATEGORIES: News • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

While it was cold and rainy, mixed with, gulp, a little snow here in Boise, weather improved out in Ohio for the Midwest Willys Reunion.  Both Bob and Brian snapped a variety of images and gave their own perspectives

Bob writes, “Much better weather today in the mid 70s. There looked to be about 100 Jeeps of all sorts today. There were lots of Cj2as and 3as, three CJ3Bs, and lots of truck and wagons. A whole lot to look at!  The little Jeep dispatcher [the red jeep a few pics down] was very cool and sold for around $5500. Also, there were lots of parts to be had. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 80s.”

Hey Bob, what is sticking out of the side of the yellow flattie? Is it an air cleaner?  Is the ‘windshield’ glass or plexiglass?

What’s the color on this flattie, red or orange or a blend?  I like the color.  Nice dually, too!

This is the DJ-3A that sold.  Are these DJ-3A windshields taller than a CJ-3B windshield?  Or were they simply re-purposed for the DJ-3A?

I’m assuming that is an aftermarket bumper?  I can’t say I’ve seen one of these on any jeeps for sale that I have seen.

Brian seemed to be captivated by the trucks and wagons during this visit.  He captured some great pics of Chad’s project (Chad received the Toledo Brick award, something the Reunion staff has been doing for several years now. It’s a brick from the old Jeep plant in Toledo.) and a pic of his favorite at the show, this wagon below (click on the pic to get a much larger pic).

Here’s images of Chad’s truck:

Custom Truck Bumper

• CATEGORIES: Features, Willys Trucks, Willys Wagons This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Steve was wondering if any readers knew anything about this aftermarket bumper found on some trucks (I’ll have to look back at some other images, but I know I’ve seen this or something similar on other trucks). I guess it is time to add a ‘bumper mod’ section to the modifications area.

Steve writes, “I Have the following wagon bumper and wondered if anyone knew anything about it?   The tag says Ricks Trailer Works, 2003 East Van Buren Street, Phoenix, Arizona.   I used to see these on a few wagons, but haven’t in quite a while.  My wagon with this came out of Utah.   It looks like a nice practical bumper, but haven’t decided how to use it yet.  Thought it might be a modification people find interesting.”
