Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. 558 Original Miles?? By my calculations, that means this was only driven 9 miles a year. I’m having a hard time believing that. Looks nice enough though.

STORY BEHIND THIS LITTLE JEEPMy buddy is the second owner of the Willys, it’s been in his family since 1967. His dad bought her from a neighbors wife after the original owner passed away. Most of the modifications were done in the 60’s, she’s all original steel and been kept in that 60’s style. The springs and shocks have been upgraded and motor was rebuilt about 5 years ago, the 5k miles is original to the motor and the speedo reflects it. The paint looks very good, there is a few scratches where your feet drag getting in. The body seams were all welded properly, not just covered up and there has never been any body rust. The most off road she’s seen is Deer Hunting, so mainly Forrest type roads and never been wrecked. It’s a great little rig that would make a cool daily driver or weekender.”

This looks pretty good for the price. Note the front frame rails have been bent a little. As noted in the ad, the body has been repaired, most obviously at the passenger step.

Well, it’s not ‘completely restored’, as it has a few wrong parts. However, it looks like a nice jeep that will be available until the price drops.

The seller has a little different definition of ‘drive’ than I do. Normally, I take that to mean the vehicle moves forward.

NEW, master cyl,4 wheel cyls.,4 sets of brakes,brake lines,silicone brake fluid,emergency brake and rear trans seal, new speedo cable, rear wheel axle seals,brake and clutch peddle to cab dust seals,carb kit installed, new exhaust system. All fluid and filters changed, original factory air cleaner purchased to install plus new firewall mounting hardware,new ignition switch in box,carb kit & spare carb, new shifter boots to install. 5 factory 16 inch wheels that need new rubber. Great low cost restoration project! Other mis. parts included. PA antique title in my name.”

I *think* this has a rear PTO, too. It appears in good shape.

No idea of actual mileage but installed new speedometer during restoration and have 3845 miles since overhaul.
Body restoration completed in 2004.
New radiator, starter, brakes in 2004.
Has “Best Top” brand cover with doors. Easy to remove and install.
Has original style jeep tires new in 2004.
Garaged year round.
Runs great. Must see to appreciate.”
