About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(11/24/09) This looks pretty stock and runs. Looks like it might be a good price.
“1946 Jeep CJ2A military style jeep. Running and in fair condition. Original 4 cylinder enjine with rebuilt carburator, generator and starter. Very original condition with little rust. Would be a great jeep to turn into that vintage rock climber you have alwasy wanted!”
UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD** As James notes, the seller neglects to mention the lack of a column shift (and I missed it too).
With a VIN of #10907, this is the 907th CJ-2A made. It’s a rare vehicle.
“Out of the Utah high desert, WWII vet owned and maintained CJ-2A from 1945. First year a civilian Jeep was produced and one of the first 1000 made. All data plates are there and in good condition. True “survivor” with very few changes made to it over the years.
Compression and oil pressure are good, but I think the carburetor will have to be rebuilt (or ideally replaced, it’s not correct for the year). Has plenty of power and runs well at speed, but idles poorly (rich). Brakes work fine, shifts well through all gears. Was register/used right up until April 2009.
Front seat frames are original, rear is not, but would work/look fine while you shopped for an original. Body is in great shape overall (UT is the second driest state in the US, just behind Nevada) but it still has some hat channel rust under the front floor and tool box. No soft top or top bows.”
I can’t tell if that is a skin on the body, or chrome, or stainless … it sure is shiny.
“I got a 1948 willys body on a 73 jeep frame. it has a chevy 350 with about 2000 miles on it and all brand new gaskets. brand new edelbrock 650cfm thunder series carbuetor with edelbrock air filter. new msd wires and shorty spark plugs to fit with the headers. very clean engine. new battery with battery wires that is now placed in the back of the jeep. its runnin great. very fun toy. askin 4500 obo. I never use my email. im computer illiterate but call me at 7022359028. The name is nick.”
“This 1946 Willy’s is in grand condition and ready for the road, on or off. The restoration consisted of sandblasting chassis and parts, rust proofing, primer and paint. New parts include: clutch, shocks, wiring, battery, radiator, brakes & brake lines, gas tank, all gages, windshield, lights, jack, winch, & auxiliary tank. Original engine has been repaired and upgraded with a solid state electronic ignition. The undercarriage has been sandblasted and painted black. This vehicle looks and drives like new.”
“PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL VIA CRAIGSLIST AS I AM ONLY POSTING THIS FOR A FREIND CALL HIS # THAT I HAVE PROVIDED OR EMAI HIM AT RIGGER1968@NETSCAPE.COM. NO MOTOR HAS T90 TRANS ROLLING CHASSIS GOOD FOR PARTS DOES NOT RUN .”
You don’t see a body parked on top of a hay bail too often. Note the PTO.
“Completly apart, lost interest in project and need to sell. PTO Winch, Stock and 91 Wrangler springs with reverse shackle mounts. Make me an offer or what do you have to trade?.”
“I have For sale a Willys jeep. Everything is there to put it back together (-the wiring harnes and the fuel lines). The body is all metal. The tail gate has Willys stamped in it. (Very hard to find.) The motor is all together and sitting in the frame. It is filled with oil and can be turned over my hand. I am asking $9,000 OBO”
“This is a 1946 Willys Jeep runs great and has been well taken care of. I am selling for a friend please E-mail with any questions. It is street legal with title. Price is firm. For some reason my pics are not coming up.I can send pics if intrested.”
The dealer selling this CJ-2A has provided a large number of good quality images. This looks pretty solid.
“1947 JEEP WILLYS. MUST SEE! VERY GOOD CONDITION! Runs and Drives Great! This 1947 Jeep Willys was brought from Missouri to Texas a few years ago. It has been kept in a barn since. It is almost impossible to find a Willys with this little of rust! LOOK at the PICTURES! Transmission shifts smooth through all gears. Engine fires right up and runs strong. It has the flathead 4 CYL. The jeep runs and drives amazing for being 60 years old! It has an exhaust leak, but otherwise is in good shape. Let the pictures do the talking for the body. It is in good shape! This Jeep has a clear Missouri title, in hand. This Jeep is being sold on consignment, and not through the dealership. Feel free to call or email anytime with questions.”
