Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This appears to have a civilian frame with a rear PTO bar. Anyone recognize those front hubs?

Seems like there’s $100 in value here.
“I have an original 1946 CJ2a willys jeep tub. There’s plenty of rust but maybe a panel or two might work for you. Also includes the misc. parts in the tub (grill, windsheild, etc.) and the roll cage. Need it gone asap! Asking $100, make me an offer. Will consider trades for other CJ2a parts. Need a back seat, rear leaf parts for the survivor.”

Seller believes this is an Army jeep due to the passenger side indents, but that more likely the sign of a replacement body.
“1946 Willys CJ2A, Go Devil L-134 4 cylinder engine, rebuilt generator, just tuned up. No rust or rot.
Frame off restoration done 12 years ago. Original PTO in the back. 3 speed standard. 6 volt system.
all gauges work. no directionals, never had any. all lights work. 19,000 original miles. never had windshield wipers. added a 6 volt electric wiper on drivers side but never ran voltage to it. she is a Army Jeep you can tell by the indents on the passenger side of the sheet metal. has some paint chipping. She runs excellent. will add more pics this weekend.”

I think the seller’s credibility slipped when he listed this “99.5% original” jeep as a 1946 …. It appears to have a CJ frame, given the PTO bar on the back. This may well be a mix of 2A and M-38 parts.

(12/06/2017) “1946 Willy’s flat fender jeep, Buick 231 odd fire v6, aluminum radiator, Muncie 4 speed transmission, Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 27 front axle 4.88 gears, warn hubs, Dana 44 rear axle with 4.88s, Power Track locker front and rear, Warn overdrive, power 11″ brakes, power steering, CJ3a windshield, soft top with doors, also comes with 4 desert Track tires and wheels!”
This later model 2A hasn’t run in a long time.
