Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. | Not a ’40 MB, maybe kind of a Salad of sorts I feel the grill looks later (maybe the lights cover the original cur outs?_ if the tub is legit, the IGN SW looks to be the earlier 3 hole deal (not the physically installed SW now, but holes look there.) Has the driver side mounts but single dash plate puts it not super early, those could be easily added who knows really, but I feel its a ’46 with some other stuff. Roll with it I guess, always looking to learn so any feedback and correction is always appreciated.
Was not familiar with the BR5-49 band or reference theme so learned something there as well. Couple more Easter Eggs hiding on this one. |

| When you start to add up the parts and pieces the price is not way out there. Really would need to do some homework on the parts listed and work performed, but it’s a long list of stuff. I do get its on the higher end of price for a re-tub project, but go over the list and see where the all in would be here might be worth a look. |

| I have my 1946 Willys Cj2a project for sale This has been a long term project The frame has been blasted and everything has been coated with Por the axles have been rebuilt with larger 10” drum breaks from a later model .the engine has been rebuild with new bearings ,rings ,gaskets,seals and it has a new upgraded aluminum radiator it also has a new 12v high torque starter and a new 12v alternator. The body has been replaced with a brand new tub kit from mb Juan The jeep has new upholstery ,new gauges new tires and tubes Needs to be sanded ,painted and put back together This was running and driving last year and wouldn’t take much to make it run again, it’s just been sitting in a garage |

This is a very original, unmodified early CJ2A. In fact it is one of the first produced after WW11 withe the rare column shift. It also the PTO running the rear power shaft with the ability to also run a sprocket for a front winch. The previous long term owner states the mileage is original and the plow is a Jeep made unit which has been seldom if ever used. Most all paint is original along with a dealer installed “ash tray” radio and hydraulic pressure gauge. There is no rust and recent maintainable includes tires, shocks, steering stabilizer along with new upholstery and a very nice top and doors. We bought this unit to restore to a military configuration but it is just to nice and original to do that. The Jeep starts, runs and stops as it should. Original maintenance and parts manual included. Might swap for WM300 Power Wagon. As always, no test pilots. Thanks
