Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (12/06/2014) Solid militarized CJ-2A.
“This is a hybrid Willys CJ2A body and chassis, with an MB front end, with correct military accessories, and correct WWII Olive Drab green paint, made to match that of the WWII Willy’s MB. Ready to drive. It cold starts first try every time, runs smooth and drives straight. Converted to 12 Volt system. 4 wheel drive is fully operational. 8,000 miles on original 4 cylinder L head Go-Devil engine. 3 speed – T-90 Transmission. 5 brand new military style tires. Always garaged. The body has been restored, minor rust on frame. Includes PTO winch on front end, which is operational but does not have a cable. Comes with authentic soft top from a Ford GPW. Locations of choke and throttle do not match that of an MB, but can be moved to correct locations. Includes spare cylinder head, all gaskets necessary for an engine overhaul, brand new spare Solex Carburetor, new spare intake and exhaust manifolds and gaskets. This jeep is more reliable than my daily driver; I really don’t want to let it go and know I will regret it when it’s gone so come get it before I change my mind. ”

“1947 Jeep Willys CJ2-A project or parts for sale ($2500 OBO). I have most everything but the body. I started this project over 10 years ago and time/space/money just haven’t been on my side. The body was trashed when I got it and has unfortunately been disposed of. I have the windshield frame, tailgate and front seat frames. I have the motor and transmission and all of the drive-train. I have a new front left axle shaft, 4 brand new tires and tubes, 4 original rims and a couple of mis-matched spares (most have been sand-blasted), a nearly complete bearing kit and many other components needed for the rebuild. I do own the original “Jeep” stamped hood, but I do not have it at my location. I am unsure if I ever had the title, but I will scour all of my records for it. I am very sad to give this up, but it is time.”

(02/05/2015) The engine runs, but jeep needs work.
“Good running jeep,4WD works,original Go-devil flathead 4,has good power,probably been rebuilt but have no papers to prove it,needs tires,and some tlc,tub has some minor rust through but not bad for an almost 70 year old jeep.I’d prefer to sell but would entertain a trade for a good diesel compact tractor or a pre 49 truck,or maybe a nice vintage boat,just ask the worst I can say is no.”

This may be a 3A chassis. The body is a big of puzzle. I’m guessing replacement that went along with the non-script hood.
There may be some value here.
“Ford V8 (not sure if its a 289 or 302). Its got everything and was running prior to the trans and transfer case removal. Have most of the drive shafts.
Including the Advanced Adapters Ford v8 to T90 transmission. (full assembly, bell housing, clutch)
What you see is what you get. Have 2 different windshields you can choose. I don’t have a title for the jeep. FYI: Front tire will hold air for a week or so its easy to get on a trailer.”

Lots of updates including a stretched body.
“Licence plated street legal 1948 CJ2A rock crawler. Owner built, streached frame and body 10 inches to allow comfortable seating in the corbeau suspension seats. 4.3L chevy fuel injected V6 turbo 350 transmission. Dana 20 T-case. Dana 44s front and rear, 4.88gears spool in the rear, detroit true track in front, on 35in wrangler MTRs. Warn rear bumper with a custom swing gate on it with a full size spare Full auto meter gauge set including speedometer. Full roll cage 6 point to the frame, not to the body. This Jeep is ready for the trail right now! Has been on the Rubicon trail several times, a well as the Fordyce trail. I am 6 foot tall and can be in the Jeep all day and be very comfortable. This Jeep is perfect for a weekend trip on the trail fot two, but there is a back seat for two kids. I have a small rack on the top to tie gear down to. I have lots of photos. Please no low ballers!! only serious inquiries please!”
