Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “What was supposed to be a rattlecan overhaul, turned into a full blown restoration that consisted of over 700 hours of labor and a significant monetary investment. This Willys has been a southern California native since new with very little rust, and has not had any accidents nor has it endured farm work, off road abuse or butchering by its previous owners.
It started as a solid and original foundation that we expertly crafted into what is being offered for sale now. As a father and son team with over 40 years of automotive mechanical, engineering and restoration experience, we undertook this project with personal pride and without the intent of selling it. However, circumstances have changed, new projects are on the horizon, and it is now being offered for sale. We have the clean CA title and current registration in possession.

“ have a 1946 CJ2a Jeep Project for sale. It is painted Army Green and mostly reassembled just need to finish lights, fuel system, seats. Have over 3500 dollars in parts placed in this jeep to include a new floor pan, wiring harness, and gauges and paint. It will turn over and ran before I disassembled, it just needs to be finished. “this jeep is a project, it is almost finished. my son and i bought it, put some time and money in it and basicallly lost interest. between us we have 5 other vehicles so this one is just one too many, we are bored with it, and i have some work i would like to do in the garage on the other jeep. the price is negotiable of course. all that is left to make it a driver is a mounted battery, gas tank, gauges, and the drivetrain controls. the title is clear, reg is current, and its on non op. here is how it sits:
axles are original, dana 25 and 41
t-case is original, dana 18
tranny is an sm465 fitted with an advance adapter
two inch body lift
tires have full tread they are 32 inch bfg all terrains.
front hubs are warn
engine is an odd fire buick v6
body is fiberglass, windshield is original metal frame, glass has a crack in it.
steering column is a gm unit.
optima redtop battery
manual brakes and steering
the engine runs like a champ. all new ignition components, rebuilt carb, and new fuel pump. the drivers side exhaust needs to be ran. all the lights work, alternator is good, it has a painless wire kit installed. it is ready for gauges. ignition is push button start. when finished it would easily be worth double my asking price. the body and paint alone would cost 4k.”
This might be a good price.

HAS ROLL BARS, NEW BRUSH GUARD, NEW MASTER CYLINDER, NEW REAR WHEEL CYLINDER, NEW LED TAIL LIGHTS, BATTERY TERMINALS, NEW PAINT, NEW DIAMOND PLATE, NEW FOG LIGHTS, AND NEW WINSHIELD. NEW UNIVERSAL JOINTS AND NEW LEAF SPRING BUSHINGS INCLUDED BUT NOT INSTALLED, 70S MODEL RIMS WITH GOOD TIRES, ORIGINAL RIMS AND TIRES INCLUDED, NEW LIFT SHACKLE KIT NOT INSTALLED WOULD RAISE ANOTHER 3 INCHES. THE HOOD AND FRONT FENDERS STILL NEED PAINTED BUT I HAVE THE PAINT. ALL PAINT IS IMPLEMENT PAINT USED ON FARM TRACTORS AND WILL LAST A LONG TIME.”
