About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Was running when parked in AZ but then my wife’s husband died and it sat for about 5 years. I have no doubts that it will run again. All parts are there. Comes with custom trailer with new tires on trailer.”
“Willys CJ2A:
Camoclad Exterior, Yokohama Steel Belted Radials, Willys F-Head Engine with Holley 1920 Carb, so there is no hood cut.
2.36 Dana 41 Rear, Dana 26 Front, T-90 3 speed transmission with Warn Overdrive, making it a 6 speed.
Miles on odometer are under 20k, but not likely accurate since the engine is newer than the original flathead. New Omix electronic distributor. Starts quickly, runs out to around 68-70 mph (overdrive). This is not a museum jeep or a frame off restoration. It can be driven every day or once a week or once a month. All gauges work, fuel gauge is screwy but gives a reading. Slight oil drip on engine.”
“rusty , was used as camp buggy to haul canoe and stuff, was runnig recently1year ago , hauled it home to fix floors, [gave up on it ] lost camp in divorce, 4cyl , 6 volt, is other wize complete with tailgate and wind shield frame, some patch work started, 4 new studded snows on it , trailer hitch, overhead rack , tire holder on side, good for parts,[ repair if your skilled] has’nt been registered for road use for decades, not cherry by any means, but was fun any way.”
“I have had this jeep for about two years. I used it all summer long after I got it running. My wife took it for a drive one day and it just died on her. I am sure it should be an easy fix, I just parked it and have not done anything with it since. The motor is not the original one. The motor in it is a 4 cylinder, 4 speed transmission. 4 wheel drive works. It would make a fun little project for someone with some time. We have the bill of sale but no title. If you have any questions about it please call me.”
UPDATE: Last price was $900. I appears to have been sold.
(01/25/2012) It’s a project.
“my brother bought this project after getting back from iraq and hasn’t touched it so its time to go.
Its a 46 willys i am looking to sell or part out if its not gone soon it will go to the scrap yard
I am also willing to trade for a running motorcycle or older vw bug seeing how i need a reliable form of transportation
“This is one of the nicest CJ2A’s around. It is very original and appears to have been painted a few years ago. The body is very solid, no rust.
Current owner had it stored in a garage for the last ten years. It was part of a collection and hasn’t been driven 20 miles in that time.
It has a Best Top and we have the doors for it. The top shows some wear but is serviceable.
It also has a good solid roll bar installed and a swing out spare tire carrier.
Tires are like new.
Needs new rubber for windshield to body and around tilt out glass.
This Willys runs great and is ready to drive!”
“1946 Willys Jeep with Title.
Body Shot. Frame restorable. C/w axles, driveshafts and tranny, condition unknown. No engine.
Wheels gone, but may be able to find some old ones to load.
Basically an original frame and axles with title, plus a free Jeep ghost!”
It sounds like it might be a good price. No pics provided.
