This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Here’s a photo of Hugh’s CJ-2As from this past weekend. He was having so much fun in the 2A on the right that he ran out of gas :-).
He reports, “Spent the weekend driving my jeeps around. put new springs, shocks and hardware on the 47 on the left then added a set of sta super traxion tires. Then i went and got em muddy. I ran out of gas driving the od 47 jeep on the right.”

This includes a full hard top. Looks like it might be a fair price.
“For sale a 1948 Willy Jeep CJ 2A. Original Flathead 4. Have full hard top and 1/2 cab cover and warn hubs. Comes with extra seats. Runs good and in good shape.”

This has some good upgrades.
“1947 CJ2A Willys Jeep serial no. 96522, beautifully restored original engine using all NOS not 1,000 miles ago ($5K). 12v conversion. Original frame and body. Front and rear axles swapped for regeared (4:10) Dana 30/44 set with disc brakes, otherwise all original running gear. 32″ Super Swamper tires with less than 500 miles on them with D-Ring steel wheels. Warn 8274 8,000 lb winch. All restored interior, shoulder belts in the front, two lap belts in the rear. Custom front bumper. Custom rear swingout rack. Custom interior safety cage. Bestop soft top with doors. Saginaw steering swap. Runs like a top.”

This has a fiberglass body.
“Up for sale is my 1947 jeep willys cj2a in awesome running and driving condition with the stock drivetrain. Fiberglass tub, steal nose and way too many new parts, comes with another 2 frames, another set of axles, a steel tub, 2 fenders and 2 hoods.

(07/01/2013) The warn winch has some value. The Willys MA tag certainly is worth a look. I find that hard to believe, but you never know . . .
