(03/30/2013) Walter spotted this jeep. There is nothing to suggest this is a ’45. The body looks pretty rough.

“Today we have For Sale a 1945 Willy’s jeep . It Is Street legal With Title has been owned and operated by the same man for over 40 years. He sent the engine to be reconditioned and also had the transfer case reconditioned aswell , The owner used this jeep as a hunting buggy for his Dove Hunting Club and it has a dog box built under back seat and gun rack in cab. It has less then 3000 miles on the engine and He will Guarantee those item to be flawless and operating as such. This jeep also comes with doors not shown in pictures but we have them. We sent the starter to be Rebuilt because it sat in the shed for about 3 years so its New , The alternator was replaced acouple years ago also, The tires all hold air and have decent thread left I have driven this jeep and it shifts great. Pretty stock and little sign of rust. The windshield seems to be fitting a little oddly.

“1947 Willy’s CJ2A “flat fender” Jeep. 4 cylinder with 3 speed transmission and Dana 18 – 2 stick hi/low transfer case. Lock out hubs, almost new NDT tires, new gas tank, recently replaced the differential third member, 12 volt system with alternator, tow bar and extra rear seat. Very little rust, very restorable or with upholtery work, run as is. $4,495 OBO.”

UPDATE: Leo discovered this jeep sold for $15,000 at the in-person auction on Saturday April 20th. 

WOW! Doug just spotted this early VEC. It is listed as a 1945 and looks wonderfully stock, with full floaters, column shift, three data tags and (I think) square bolt heads on the windshield.

Here are two VEC bodies/projects plus other items.

“Hello, I am selling out my Willys Jeep project & stuff. It is an all original 46 2A body on a 52 M-38 chassis. (blue) needs to be completed. everything new to this point. I also have a mostly complete 3B, a really nice 2A chassis. I have engines, transmissions and boxes of parts and so on. years of collecting. I have way to much to list. (04/02/2013) It clearly isn’t stock, but seems solid. Check out the diamond plating under the dash; that’s unusual.

“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A
Great Condition, I bought From the Original Owner with complete history since new, only has about 30K actual miles ( motor was replaced with a GM overhead cam 4 cylinder in 1980 that runs excellent ).
The Willys is Rust Free and has never had any rust repair to the floor pans and the frame is also rust free. The Willys has always has been garage kept for the past 50 plus years.
New wheels, tires, seats and paint… and is titled with a antique tag and is Road Legal, I drive it every day!!!

(04/04/2013) The bed has been diamond plated.

“’46 Willys Jeep, stock engine has been rebuilt, rebuilt tranny and transfer, good tires. Converted to 12volt, and electric fuel pump, tow hitch kit on front with jack, receiver hitch in rear. Some rust…bed has been covered with aluminum diamond plate. Runs and shifts great!!!”

“Good running jeep, original pto winch, 4cylinder, 3speed, locking hubs, 4×4 works good, nice sonding stereo, good tires, steel hard top and doors. Body was sandblasted to metal, primed and painted, did no metal work, body needs some work but looks pretty good. This jeep has been refurbished. The column shift and grille have been changed. Unclear if it still has the tool indents.

“Full frame up restoration using 2 donors and a New-old-stock parts source.

Original engine, etc. A few things are new (grill, wheels), as I haven’t found the original parts yet. Also, converted to a floor shifter, because the column shifters were horrible.

Less than 5k miles since restoration. Works as a daily driver, or take care of the rest of the cosmetic stuff and have a show car.
