Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It looks like a number of details on this CJ-2A jeep were painted in place, such as the hood latches, the windshield latches and, possibly, the windshield.

(08/25/2011) This hit something hard in the bumper … or something hit it.
“For sale are a restorable 1948 Willys Jeep and a 1947 Willys parts jeep, both of which have their own matching tags and MN titles. Frames on both are solid but the 1948 has some plates welded to the front bumper mounts and there is dent in the front bumper. Engine on the 1948 needs new piston rings but ran very well a couple years ago. The windshields will need to be replaced on both jeeps due to rust. The 1948 has a plow lift bracket on the rear bumper and the tailgate has been cut out so that it could be let down around the bracket (cut stops just below the Willys logo). The 1948 was also converted to a 12 volt system and has working headlights and heater fan (passenger side).”
