About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This was bought as a project. I payed $1,250 for it 2 years ago and dont have the time to spend on it now. It ran then but not “really well”. the tires are in good shape and have plenty of tred (almost new) the rims are in good shape. body needs some repair. GREAT PROJECT (located near Broadway/410)”
“1948 Willys CJ2A – $1000 cash firm – M38 Tub – Rough condition but fun – L head engine – T90 tranny and T18 transfer case – plates good until 3 – 2012 *This has rust and is not in restorable shape* It has been my daily driver for over 9 months. I have recieved about 4 calls and the first question being asked is “Does the tub have rust”. Please consider the cost of the parts included which is well above what I am asking for this fun old willys. Thanks.
This was my daily driver until the electrical went out. In the process of replacing the solenoid, coil and distributor the old 6 volt starter went out. New Solex carb, distributor, coil, solenoid, tie rod set, front knuckle seals, tranny seals, transfer seals, front and rear diff seals, spark plug wires, clutch bell crank kit, brake pedal, clutch cross shaft and new master cylinder. Also included are 4 new shackles with LH and RH thread to replace the “redneck’ lift. A set of new 4 Ubolts for the rear axle. There is a new set of front 8 leaf springs which were supposed to be rear ones but Crown sent the wrong ones. I wanted to change out the wrong rear springs. Radiator needs to be patched driver’s side bottom and a new choke cable along with the starter problem.”
“Classic 1948 Jeep CJ3A. Mostly original, including motor. 12V conversion, saginaw steering. Always garaged. 42,000 original miles. 3rd owner. No rust, never wrecked. You won’t find a cleaner original 1948 jeep.”

(05/04/2010) There’s some nice updates on this rig, including an updated dash. You couldn’t build this for that price.
“1946 Willy’s Flat Fender, T-18 transmission, Powerlocker in front diff, Detroit locker rear diff, Updated front axles, 31 spline flanged axels in the rear, 5:38 gears, 11” brakes, Chevy power steering, Custom built heavy duty drivelines, custom built cross-flow radiator, full roll cage, Rubicon rack with spare tire & two extra 5 gallon gas cans, CB radio, tow bar, driver’s side fender well modified for more leg room..”
Daniel has his CJ-2A for sale. He’s says that it is solid and runs good, though a previous owner did some strange alterations to the fenders and steps.
(02/05/2010) This has got a great sounding drive train. There’s still some work left on this rig.
“I have a 1946 CJ2A that orginally came from CA. It has been on the Rubicon, down to Pismo Beach and many CA jeep runs. It has competed at Weiser in the Sand Drags and Hill Climbs and in the Mud Boggs in the Boise Pavillon, years ago. I purchased this jeep in 1987. Rebuilt the motor in the 90’s. Has only about 100 miles since the rebuilt. This is what the purchase includes: 1946 CJ2A body, all lights and hardware removed and body sand blasted, no rust, small amount of bondo, but body straight, fiberglass hood, winshield intacted no cracks. 1964 Ford 289, rebuilt, Cobra Intake, Cobra Valve Covers, Cobra Oil Pump, bronco air filter, 4 speed, Warn Overdrive, Posi 4:56 gears, dual shocks at each wheel, small lift, but very stiff suspension, custom dash with Stewart Warner gages (5). Bucket Seats, back seat with storage box, roll cage, battery mounted in rear tub, spare tire carrier with CB antenna mount, and spare. Old 11×15 on 15 inch rims Armstrong Tru Tracs, Set of Dick Cepek 14.50x 15 Sand Paddles on 15 inch rims (old). This jeep isn’t perfect:, brakes should be replaced, final sanding and paint, all hardware and lights reinstalled, and the radiator has a small pin hole leak. If you are looking for a jeep to drive in the hills, sand. or rocks this is the jeep. If you are looking for something to drive on the street look at something else.”
