This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “So i have a willys i bought as a project was going to fix up but i got a great deal on a restored one. so this is the tub, running gear, a bunch of extra parts, part to put in power steering, original transmission and transfer case, it came with a 350 just sitting in it thats said to be rebuilt and thats the way it will leave. i have some parts to put the original motor back in but those may or may not go with it. i have pictures just email me. i will check daily. feel free to negotiate, i have done a lot of work to it since i got it tho and if i have time i will continue. It runs and drives.
“For SALE OR TRADE 1946 Willys Jeep cj-2a (CLEAN TITLE IN HAND) the price of $3500 is negotiable, as far as trades I will trade for a Kawasaki KLR 650 or similar endure type bike.
Has been converted to 12 volt. Engine has been replaced with the 134 F head. This is the engine that was used in the cj-3b’s among other vehicles, similar to the original flathead but the intake valves are in the head and the exhaust valves are in the block, providing slightly more power and reliability in comparison to the L head (flathead). This thing runs great, and has recently had these parts changed. (I have all of the receipts)

This isn’t a show quality rig by any means, but this thing starts up right away, and idles and runs perfectly, the 4wd and transmission work perfectly also. Even the gauges work. Doesn’t leak all over the place, and would make a perfect hunting rig / work horse, or you could just use it for fun, this thing is a blast to drive”

(02/22/2012) Despite the odd tool storage the body looks pretty good.
“1948 CJ2-A, garage kept, third owner, still 6 volt, original flat head 4 engine, 4X4 runs great, tow bar, Rhino lined inside and out, new tires, new upholstry, street legal but mud ready. Jerry Cans and tools go with the jeep.”

(03/17/2012) “I have a really nice 46 willys jeep. Its all original but the motor, its has a v-6 buick 231. Runs very well, has new paint, carb was rebuilt. fresh tune up plugs cap and rotor. tires in fair shape .this was first year jeep sold to the public after world was II its a classic. selling for $4900 obo dont be afraid to make offer”

(06/17/2012) This appears to still need work, though the seller doesn’t mention what needs to be done.
“Rebuilt 1946 CJ2A. New body work, fresh paint. Lift kit about 4 inches. Brand new 33×10.50 bfg mud terrain km2s. Brand new black d window wheels. New seats, gauges, tail lights, head lights. Recent rebuilt motor. All new electrical. Grant steering wheel. Custom pro comp bumper. Gotta get rid of it. No garage or shop to keep it in.”
Here’s a crazy looking jeep. The auction is located at 421 Market St. Byron, IL on Sunday Sept 30th.
