About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
The front frame rails have been customized. The drain holes are missing. It’s listed as a CJ-5.
“This is a great deal. New Tires, New paint, rack on the back, great for wheeling, New soft top and New seats. This whillys is in great condition. call if you have any questions. This is a must see! Motor is rewired to 12v.”
This has a rebuilt drive train. At least some of the floor boards have been patched, as well as the steps and drain hole areas.
“This is a 1948 CJ2A all original Willys, except for tires, wheels and seats. I have the original frames for the front seats but will have to be reupholstered. Engine, transmission, transfer case, and rear end rebuilt late last winter. Power steering was also added at that time. All gauges work except speedometer. Jeeps runs and drives excellent. Clear Idaho title..”
“An American classic! This old Wyllis has been been sitting in a hay-barn in the Texas hill country for the last 25 years. It was inherited and there is no title. The engine is locked down, but can probably be worked loose with some WD40 and t.l.c. A couple of goats got on top once upon a time and dented the top and the tires are flat, but the axles roll free. The electrical system was also converted over to 12 volt. Please email me or call 830-868-two-seven-four-five between 6 and 8pm central standard time if you’ve got any questions. Shipping will be the buyers responsibility, if that’s the route you go. My zip is 78636. A deposit of $500 is due within 72 hours of winning bid via Paypal.”
This has a rear PTO with winch. It looks like some body work has been down on and around the step areas.
“The guy I bought this Jeep from 3 yrs ago had just had the engine, transmission, and the transfer case gone through at Bemidji Tech. He also had someone fabricate new heavier than original metal on the outside from the doors back. He powdercoated the rims, put on new tires, brakes, springs, tie rods, shocks, gas tank and seats. It has a rear pto and winch. It has had very few miles since and always stored inside. It always starts and drives great. Goes staight down the road without the wobble like most do. All the lights and gauges work. It looks ok the way it is, but I was planning on re-painting it as whoever did it could have done a better job of sanding and prepping, but I’ve got too many projects already. The floors could use some work also but they’re not bad. I have a CJ syle windshield frame, an extra hood, nice spare tire and new mount, and a motor and transmission for parts. It also has a tow bar and lockout hubs. The hard work is already done on this Jeep and it’s nice just the way it is. With a little more work on paint it would be worth alot more.”
I hope they did more than just ‘sauter’ (perhaps the seller means solder?) this back together!
“For sale is 1946 Willy’s jeep. Runs. Have pink slip. Pink slip might say it’s a 1942 but I won’t know until I view pink slip, which is locked up at the moment. Jeep was in accident, sautered back together. Has been in barn
for many years. Willing to trade, or best offer.”

It sounds like the drive train has been looked through.
“1947 willys jeep cj2a rebuilt motor, transmisson, tranfercase, front and rear rearend. Want to know more call Randy at 812-480-0001.No emails I wont answer them. Thank you”
There some really nice aspects, but a couple puzzling restoration decisions such as the method for attaching the rear bow holders.
“Very nice original 1947 Willy’s Jeep that’s about 80% fully restored. This has been a five year restoration project using only original parts from Kaiser Willy’s Auto Supply. I have well over $10,000 in parts and materials alone. Life changes however are unfortunately forcing me to abandon this project of love. Briefly, the 6 volt electrical system has been upgraded to 12 volts; gloss OD paint to emulate a Flag Officer’s Jeep; all new brake system; new glass, etc. The list goes on. Jeep runs well, fun to drive and display at car shows.”
