“1946 Willys CJ2A. Running, complete, original, clear title, with current registration. With an extra L-engine and new, uninstalled Best Top

Done: Engine compartment cleaned, fresh fluids, block painted gray, new battery, new fuel pump installed, rebuilt carb installed, recored radiator, new muffler, and new 6v ignition and hose sets installed. Cleaned and painted the gas tank too. Body is straight, frame is straight. No major rust. Only major hole is at the bottom of the toolbox.

Needed: New tires (I have all 5 OEM wheels), new brakelines, connect the brakelight, install seatbelts (or not), connect the fuel gauge, get the wiper working, and new seals along the drive and prop lines. Doing all this will make a safer vehicle, but not change the way it drives, which is fine. Then new front seat cushions and covers, adding a rear bench, and installing the BestTop (that I have) or not, and anything else cosmetic.

A real straight unaltered (sloppy paint on top of the original farm green) flat-fender Willys.

This some of the PTO equipment and has the governor knob and cable.

“Been stored in the garage for 15yr and it’s time for it to see a new home. Mostly original, new BestTop seats, NOS steering wheel, reproduction carb, roll bar, 12v conversion. Tub has been modified to move the front seats reward (more leg room up front). PTO unit previously had a front winch and has been removed. Few other odds and ends. Currently non-op and no back fees. NO SMOG!! Would make a great hunting/ranch vehicle with a bit of freshening. Feel free to email questions.”

It has a 4cyl flat head motor, new carb, 12volt alt, 3 speed trans, all running gear is stock, new body to frame bushings, new seats, top, windshield, gauges, & paint.  Runs and drives like a old jeep should. needs new gas gauge, and wiper motor.”

This might be worth a look.

“I have a 1948 CJ2a in need of some restoration efforts. It is a very original example with low original miles (approx 30,000. It has mostly sat unused and needs work to get it on the road again. Floors are extermely solid with no previous welding or repairs. The jeep is very stock with all original fittings present. It has the stock gauges, electrical, seat frames, fan shrouds carb etc etc even the battery cables and license plate holder are orignal. I have a clear 1952 oregon title. It has spark, and it will fire with some gas in the carb. The headlights and marker lights work. Its a very original example worthy of further restoration but I simply have too many projects to give it the attention it deserves. If you want to restore an original cj2a – this is a great start.
New parts (in the last week)
-brand new 6 volt battery
-new plugs, wires, condensor, cap
-new wheel cylinders (not installed) and brake hoses”

Obviously this is overly price and isn’t as original as claimed, but it has full floaters on the rear.  So, this might be a mix of parts.

Since fully restored we do not know the actual mileage.
It has only been driven in a couple of parades here locally.
Mileage since fully refurbished to original condition is well under 500 miles.

The owner is looking for some one whom will treasure and appreciate this fully restored Willis Jeep.
However, he is not desperate to sell. A reasonable fair market offer will not be refused.

Chances of you finding a 1947 Willis CJ-2A Jeep in this condition would be slim to none. Howard keeps this jeep in a secured facility fully covered when not in show or parade.”

Not a perfect restoration, but sure looks pretty good.
