About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

Jim’s giving us an early look at the VEC CJ-2A he pulled out of Crawford, Colorado. He’s planning on listing this on eBay very soon (unless he gets a good offer before then). He’d really like it to go to someone who will give it a good restore.
He writes: “I pulled this CJ-2A out of Crawford Colorado. It has an early serial number, three on the tree, tool indents, 3 piece agri dash plate, early wire steering wheel, 6 volt, very little rust, runs great, motor is super quiet. The serial number is 17614.”
This includes a set of 4 terra tires. Is this a race jeep for PNW racing or mud bogs? The tires look great.
“1947 cj2a race jeep. the jeep body is a 47 cj2a that is on 83 jeep commando frame has a chevy 350 in just went through the motor has all new gasket, timing chain cam lifters oil pump new edlebrock carb new accel dist that was 350 bucks alone accel super coil fuel cell jump straps new purple horenys mufflers new radiator, electric fans. has a aluminum power glide with a stall converter in it mated up to the jeep transfer case with a shield around it has a set of 4 tera tires and a set of 2 tractor it also has a brake lock with a slap shifter, tach all newer gauges bucket seats tires for the back of it. this quiet fast runs sweet wanted to play in the montains but its alittle to much for that is more for racing willing to trade or sell looking for a wrangler jeep or something on that line”
Here’s a running CJ-2A with a fiberglass body for only $800. Sounds like a great price to me.
“I have s Jeep Willys CJ2A the odometer reads 75,000 but it could have turned over or could have been replaced. It runs good on the choke (it needs carb work) the frame seems to be in really good condition, the body is fiberglass and seems to be in okay shape there is some cracks and chips. It will run and move under its own power, the clutch doesn’t engage right probably from sitting, the transmission shifts fine all three gears and the transfer case work, but the levers are worn so it’s kind of hard to switch gears in the transfer case. It also appears to have half a 12 volt electrical system in it, meaning it starts and runs on 12 but all the lights are still 6. I have the doors to with the top and a parts CJ2A to go with it. $800 obo. Call me at (802)-223-2752”
UPDATE: Originally listed at $8000, a long time reader James bought this for less than half that price. It’s a steal! And, it includes a stainless grille, which he plans to sell as well, reducing the purchase price even more, because the previous owner threw in the original grille which James will paint and reinstall. Nicely done James!
James writes, “this is a 1946 VEC CJ-2A #18526, column shift, driver’s indents, no rust. original docs and rear glass light”
Here’s some pics he included:
Here’s more information included from the original Craigslist Ad:
“1946 Willys Very Rare 3 on the tree, converted to 12 volt. mild lift custom paint very good condition. original flat 4 motor with 62,000 miles, tranny and transfer case. has original tools and jack and all original accessories to make it completely original. well maintained has original service manual and paper work.”
“This is an early 46 # 11325 ( some might call it a 45). It was a column shift and somebody put it on the floor. It has military differentals, windshield hardware, steering wheel and oil filter that says (military standard) on it.. This is a running jeep that could be put on the road. All I can see it needs to be original is a driver seat and be put back to column shift. The gas tank has had a few holes plugged, and is not leaking. The body is in good shape and has very little rot for its age as you can see in the pictures.”
You are bidding on a 1946 CJ2A VIN # 11425.This willys is registered as a 46 but could be a 45 due to VIn number being so low.Last vin in 45 was 11824 this is 11425 out of 1824 built that first year released to public. This willys is Michigan Yellow with sunset red rims ( no black stripe ) I bought this Willys in December and have driven it around for about 400 miles. I lost my job so now the toy has to go.My lose is your gain.”
“We have a 1947 Willy’s Jeep, white with Blue seats and top. It was pieced together with 1942, 46 and 47 parts in the late 1980’s, trailered from Arkansas to Michigan in the early 1990’s and has been stored in a pole barn since then. The body is in good condition, the engine runs, it does drive but it does seem to ‘eat’ batteries. My husband and I don’t have the time or resources to work on the jeep and hate to see it set. It comes with the spare tire and the gas can that hooks to the side. There is a title to this jeep, and it was licensed back in 1994.”
Here’s a pretty nice CJ-2A with an early ’46 body. It’s got a number of updates.

“1946 Willys Jeep In near perfect condition !!! ***Historical Montana License Plate***. This Willys was restored in 1996 with all stock items excluding the turn signals and tires. This Willy has been stored in a closed garage since 1996”
Not much information about this other than it has a 5 speed. It appears to have either an MB or GPW body. Those are some really short seats! The VIN is #3547499.
