Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Bill is selling his beautiful 1947 CJ-2A. We met with Bill back in 2018 and I saw this jeep in person at that time.
“For sale-1946 Willys CJ2A-total restoration completed in 2013 to include new body tub, wiring harness, brakes, tires, steering, rebuilt trans. and transfer case with new overdrive unit. Engine rebuilt (engine is a 1948) new gas tank and fuel lines, 3500 miles since complete restoration. A few oil drips but in beautiful and perfect running condition. 46 engine and several boxes of spare parts included.”

“Great CJ with completely rebuilt drive train, engine, trans, transfer case, etc. Fun vehicle to just hop in and take for a ride. Comes with clear PA title and a lot of extra parts, some new and some used. Has 3 speed trans with hi and low 4 wd with overdrive, five new tires, new brakes, shocks, all brake lines, cylinders, etc. were installed. Comes with newer soft top, rear seat. Not perfect but I would drive it almost anywhere”

Have all the parts. $2300. Transmission is disassembled. Lots of extra parts. I’m selling for father in law feel free to ask any questions.”
Listed as a 1948 CJ-2A, the body looks to be CJ-3A. The front frame rails lack the gussets. Might be a good price.

The price has dropped on this 2A. At first, I thought the battery was located in the case attached to the PTO bar (looks similar to a plastic battery enclosure).

“I have a 1948 Willys jeep for sale. It runs and it drives. I have a clean title in hand. …. It is a four wheel drive Willys with a manual transmission. The motor was rebuilt in 2007 it has only had 2000 miles put on it from 2007-2015 then it sat in a garage for years after that. I still keep it in a garage!!! It’s a very good running Willys turn key runs and drives.”
