About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(04/15/2010) It runs and has the F-head racing scoop.
“Selling a 48 Jeep willys runs good has some new wiring and electronic ignition. Great deer lease jeep starts good in the cold. Needs to have the transmission rebuilt and a new battery.”
You can see the front clip has been lengthened to fit the later model CJ frame. The fenders were lengthened, but I can’t tell where; however, the extension of the hood is pretty obvious. It now occurs to me that there might be a small market for lengthened flattie fenders and flattie hoods to make this modification easier for builders. Creating fiberglass molds would not be too difficult.
“1948 Willys Jeep in excellent condition. Fully restored by previous owner. 1948 tub mounted on a 1976 CJ5 frame with an AMC 304 V8, T150 trans, Dana 20 transfer case. The jeep is titled as a 1948, and the clear title is in hand. Had some ignition problems when I bought it, but it has been painstakingly sorted out, and runs great. New superswamper 33×10.5 tires on it. Lots new on this jeep (too much to list on here). Serious inquiries only please”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
I’m pretty sure this is a fiberglass body. ACME continues to sell fiberglass, metal and aluminum flattie bodies, as noted below.
“This was a project that never got finished. It has a Buick 231/ turbo 350/ Spicer18/ dana44 with 5/38 gearing/ Summer brothers axils/ aluminum wheels. The body (tub, front fenders, and grill) is an acme with minimum rust. Also comes with a two piece windshield and extra grill (small headlight), windshield wipers, extra u-joints and back seat Asking 2000.00 or best offer.”
“Awesome little jeep for sale. All original except nice wheels and tires. Has a 3000 pound winch added on the front bumper as well. Origninal motor in it. Looks great, drives great, just a really cool jeep all the way around. Hate to sell it, but just don’t need it.”
Dave let me know that this VEC is for sale over at the CJ-2A Page. The seller hopes to sell the entire jeep, but if he can’t get it sold, he plans to part it out. This has a serial number of #14575, so it is a very early CJ and it would be a shame to see this parted out.
How about this classic sand jeep. If the tires goes with it and are in decent shape, then this looks like a good price for the right person.

If NADA says it, then it must be true, right? Nice looking jeep though.

“I have a 1946 willys jeep. I bought this for a project, but i need money to pay bills. This willys is not running and I am selling it with a bill of sale. It is a great project jeep and it has a lot of potential. Everything is included: engine, body ,transmission, even the emergency brake is there (they are often missing on these jeeps). I am asking 1600 or best offer.”
