This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Nice original condition 1948 Jeep Willys. Original VIN Plate on firewall, Good title. Garage kept. Good condition. Original 4 cylinder “Go Devil” engine. Original drive line with good engine, transmission, T-case. etc… Nice Blue paint approx 10 years old. Original 6 volt system. No rust. Very good body. New windshield frame, seat frames and Beechcraft seat cushions w/ rear seat. NDT tires on 16″ wheels. Includes tow bar and rear tow hitch. I bought it 3 years ago as a project and but have not found time for it. Needs minor work to complete. Parts included but not installed include new windshield cowl, glass, insall kit; new seats, cushions, seat belts. Great father/ son project.”

I love the comment by the seller of this frankenstinien vehicle: “unique cab style”.
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2 in non running condition. Could restore or make a parts Jeep. Odometer shows 26626 miles, true milage unknown by me. I purchased as a project and never did get to it. Body and frame seem decent, the floor of the rear area is rusted through as seen in picture. Unique cab style. Has 540 PTO on rear. I do have the seat frame for it but not upholstered. Will have to be hauled or trailored. I live near Dixon IL 61021. Can either use PayPal or pay cash when picked up.”

(05/28/09) It’s got some rust issues …
“I listed this earlier in the summer, but have gone down significantly in price as I don’t want to see it sit outside through the long winter and I have no garage to store her in. Has a crack in the windshield. Needs new clutch, spark plugs and fresh gas. The frame is solid but rusty. Hard arctic top and doors. No papers. Would make a great project for the garage this winter and have ready to go out mudding in the spring. Serious inquiries only and if you set up a time to come out, please follow through! Located in Sandy Creek. May be able to arrange delivery for half price of local towing company. They want $150 to go to Syracuse, I will charge half whatever they quote for your specific location. The dashboard is unusual.
“1948 Willys Custom Jeep with a Ford 302 V-8 Engine, 4-Speed Manual Transmission and lots of other extras that makes for a perfect hunting/farming/ranching vehicle. This jeep has had a lot of alterations but runs and drives good. The body is straight and the drive train seems to be tight. The engine has limited blow-by but does show some exhaust smoke. Some reconditioning may be needed but it should provide you with a lot of great service.”
