About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This looks like a decent price on some flattie parts. If you are looking for corner and side diamond plating, it appears it comes with them (though it’s installed).
“1949 Willy’s Jeep. No frame only the body, tub, grill, windshield, and miscellaneous parts. $500 or best offer. This will be a fun project for sure. e-mail me at sky_blu@rocketmail.com”
Here’s a mix and match jeep that sounds like it’s had a bunch of modifications.
“I’m re-listing my 1947 WIllys CJ-2A. This is a super nice, restored Willys that you can drive anywhere or it also has a really nice towbar that goes with it so you can drive here to pick it up and tow it home! It has a clear Wisconsin title but it is titled as a 1960 CJ-5. This Willys was completely tore down to the frame about 12 years ago and professionally rebuilt. The 1960 CJ-5 frame number matches the title. Odometer actually shows about 5,800 but I’m listing this as under 10,000 miles because of tire size. Drivetrain is a rebuilt Buick 231 cu. in. V-6 with a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Engine has an HEI distributor. It has a Lokar street rod shifter. Carburetor is a Holley 390 cfm four barrel on a 4.1 Buick aluminum intake. Heads and intake are port matched. It has fender well headers and dual exhaust….”
This looks good on the outside. Note that the corners have painted diamond plating.
“1948 Willys Jeep Style, 90% Restored. Runs Exellent. I have spent alot of Time and money on this Jeep, But Due to hard times (BAD ECONOMY) I must sell 🙁 Pictures don’t show the full sized top, with doors, that is included. I bought this jeep from a farmer who kept it in a barn for most of its life. Iv’e had it for 7 years Doing a little at a time. Good Luck She’s a great little truck.”
It looks it good condition. It’s got the f-head telescope.
“1946 willys cj2a its in great condition and the color of it is red with a brand new cloth top running gears work perfect and 4 wheel drive works perfect..and new breaks, head lights, paint job..and has a L134 engine.”
“Jeep 1946 Willys CJ2A. Tub is in fair to moderate condition. Fenders, grill, tailgate in good condition. Windshield frame in moderate condition – there is some rust on the lower portion, but the split glass is intact and the venting mechanism is intact. Frame is in great shape. Transmission shift tower has some slop in it, but internals are fine. Transfer case seems fine. No known issues with the axles. Engine does not currently run, but I imagine it would if it was wired. Engine is not locked, and it has a Supersonic head. Intake and exhaust manifold are new. Starter and generator have been rebuilt. It has new wheel cylinders on the back and new brake drums. Master cylinder needs replaced or rebuilt and brake lines need to be replaced. Seats appear to have been recovered recently with olive canvas. Gas tank and radiator are there and appear to have no holes. Comes with tow bar. I do not have a title. All VIN plates are intact and I will provide a SC Bill of Sale. I am also in the market for a new manufactured 6 X 12 mesh floor trailer that I would consider towards sale.
“Up for sale here is a 1947 willy’s hard-top jeep. Bought 35 yrs ago and used during hunting season thru the 70’s and into the 80’s in upper Pa where I have family. The jeep has been stored indoors in my garage and well serviced thru the years. Has a 4cyl overhead valve engine, manual trans and manual locking hubs as well. Recent new parts include: radiator and newly rebuilt fuel-pump. Up grades include radio and electric wipers. Jeep runs great, all guages work well and frame is solid and tires good. I mounted a tow bar to the front bumper years ago to pull to the mts, as you may well know they are factory geared for the off road. Any ?’s call717-818-6392.”
“Needs some T.L.C. Needs a bigger radiator in the front. It had a radiator in the rear tried to eliminate and add one in the front. But it was not big enough. It needs a front drive shaft. Transfer case pop’s out of two wheel drive sometimes but never pops out of four wheel. Extra features include a high performance chevy 350 motor, dana 44 axels front and rear. 4 wheel disc brakes, 373 gears, four inch sky jacker spring lift. Newer CJ5 frame. The jeep has been put together from the frame up with in 500 hundred miles including new ball joints, tie rods, motor, transmission, transfer case and axels, 22 gallon fuel cell. The jeep initially was built for sand drags but was never finished from previouse owner. Had sat for five years due to previouse owner going into the navy. Never been driven on the roads since built, but has been to the dunes.”
UPDATE: Still available, but no price listed. Price was $2800.
(10/30/09) The passenger side body panel has been modified.
“All original Flat head 4 cylinder, Fresh tune up, Original tires and Wheels + a spare set of tires, Good running jeep, very fun. Needs some TLC, Do not want to see it sit all winter, Will consider trade for good running Snowmobile. Please call, Mike 801-414-1507.”
It doesn’t run, but appears complete. Based on the year, I’d say this is a CJ-3A, but the bow holders on the driver’s side suggest CJ-2A.
“It’s a pretty great jeep. I really, REALLY hate having to sell it but, as we all know the economy sucks. Anyways, about the jeep: Of course it doesn’t run it’s been sitting for about 2 years, under cover about 1 year 6 months. Mostly electrical work is needed, and I imagine there is a load of work to be done under the hood. Ran and drove 2 years ago. Stock cover is still in great condition, just needs a thorough wash. Interier is dusty and smelly. Hundreds of extra parts laying around. (Doubles of what’s on the jeep already). NOT a parts vehicle, or un-finished project. Just needs a good strong elbow or two on her for a while.
Will most likely need all 4 new tires, but they haven’t been filled with air in a long time so they might still work, who knows Lol. All are welcome to take a look if you like, shoot me an offer first and we’ll see where we can go from there.”
Check out the knob sticking out of the emergency brake hole. What is that? Also, the carburetor just barely sticks out of the hood. I suspect the air cleaner attaches above the hood? The seller notes that with the exception of the engine, everything is original, which isn’t true.
“This jeep is in good condition with a 52 overhead valve engine, everything else is original…Steering has been rebuilt…new battery…This has the 4 wheel drive with low and high…and it works good.. It shows 36967 but I can’t confirm this. This would make a great hunting/fishing jeep or one to just have fun in…thanks for looking..rudy”
