Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There’s been some investment into this jeep. The Mickey Thompson tires appear in very good shape.

We used this jeep on nice days to enjoy the weather,but we have a new baby and it will just sit.The jeep has a 383 chevy stoker,alum heads,intake,headers,msd ing,holley carb,muncie 4 speed,dana 44 rearend with arb locker and air comp,new wiring,gauges lights,turn signals work,paint is faded or just drive like is. “A 1946 Jeep Willys. Fair Condition. Needs new spark plugs and possibly coil. Parts are easy to find and relativily inexpensive. Front bumper missing and bumper mount bent slightly. Good jeep, just not used anymore. Will negotiate.”

It’s got some floor rust and the body has some dings.
“1947 WILLYS MODEL 2J2A -all original except 12 volt conversion. Solid body and frame but not with out some rust as pictured. 12 volt system all lights and gauges in working order. Original motor in good working order . Working 4 wheel drive with locking hubs. Tires on vehicle and spare in good shape. Extras included: two tires on rims, jerry can holder, tow bar.”

“47 willys rock crawler, chevy 350, turbo 350 tranny, dana 30 t case, dana 44 frount, 14 bolt int the rear, 9000 lb worn wintch, rollcage, 5 point harnes, truck advenger carb great for 4×4, 10in lift, 36 in super swampers 80% tread, lockers frount and rear, 5 13 gears, need to sell fast,”
This runs, drives and has a good body (according to the seller). This might not be a bad deal. It is still a project. I suspect it needs more than just the lights wired and paint.
“Excellent example of a 1948 Jeep Willys. It has been converted to a 12 volt system. Body is in good condition, runs and drives good. Interior is in good condition. It has only been driven a few miles as an occasionally. The jeep has great floors is amazingly solid. This rare CJ2A with a M-38 hard top. i have pics can send to your email and phone. cant get the to download from my phone.”

“1946 Willys Jeep Custom, Four wheel drive with Granny gear and overdrive transmission.
Runs strong with lots of power with a common modification using a Buick V6. Aluminum High Performance Radiator. Polished headers with dual exhaust. HEI electronic ignition. 9000 lb. Warn Wench. Tilt steering column and Custom interior and gauges. Chrome Rally wheels. Very Clean Jeep. Drive it Home”

I love this jeep. It’s running on makeshifts, prayers, and desperation. Just look at the battery location (below pic).
“WILLYS CJ2A JEEP. RUNS SMOOTH AND QUIET! NO BRAKES EXCEPT EMERGENCY BRAKE. PLOWED JEST MY DRIVEWAY FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS UNTILL FRONT FRAME BROKE,SEE PICTURES. FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND HIGH AND LOW AND ALL GEARS WORK GOOD. TIRES ARE 6.50X16 AND HAVE DRY ROT CRACKES BUT ALLWAY HELD AIR.STEERED GOOD BEFORE FRAME BROKE NOW STEERS HARD. CLUTCH IS OK. I USED TWO BATTERYS,12 VOLTS TO START IT AND 6 VOLTS TO RUN ON. NEVER USED THE LITES,HORN OR ANYTHING ELSE. I DON’T THINK THEY WORK….”

“1948 CJ-2A flathead 4 cylinder, 3 speed, Dana 44 rear, new disk break conversion on front, Chrysler steering column and gear box conversion, locking hubs, needs paint, drive it home today for $1850 as pictured. This jeep has clear title and serial number plates on firewall. ”
