This appears to be a parkette racing body.  The front of the frame looks a little twisted.

This CJ-2A looks like it’s in very good shape.  Except for the diamond plating, it appears pretty stock.

“This Jeep is being relisted from about 3 weeks ago. Up for sale is a 1946 Willys Jeep that I bought from an an elderly gentleman’s estate sale in February. This is a very early CJ2a that originally came with a column shift. I have not had the time to devote to rebuilding it and now I must sell it to make room for other vehicles. I got this jeep running with a basic tune up. It has a Buick 231 V6, power steering conversion and add on turn signals. This jeep does need work. The front left frame horn appears to have a slight tweak downward on the left side.”

“Leave the tow rig at home, this jeep gets 25+ mpg and cruises at 70 mph. Built with an all DOM tube chassis it’s super strong and only weighs 2000 lbs. Has long arm 4 link suspension for a lot of travel off road.
The entire drivetrain is from a 4 cyl. 1997 wrangler. Fuel injection and emissions are hooked up. Why show up at the trail in a rig that looks just like everybody elses?”

It looks like the seller put some effort into this rebuild.

BRAKES FRONT- DRUM REAR.  I BUILT THIS JEEP 8 YEARS AGO AND DROVE IT ABOUT 3000 MILES, JOB TOOK ME OUT OF TOWN AND THE JEEP HAS BEEN STORED FOR 5 YEARS.. I RUN IT ABOUT EVERY THREE MONTHS DURING STORAGE.”

If you are looking for an early CJ-2A, this has got some good elements, including the driver’s side cutouts, the column shifter, and a heater.  The passenger side fuel hole is interesting; I don’t believe that was stock?

“This early CJ-2A has an ID number of 16741.  It is a 3 speed on the tree.  It has a clear MO title. Below is the description: Motor – Org. 4 cylinder.  Just got back from machine shop.  All four cylinders were re-sleeved.  Crank was polished.  New pistons, valves, springs, etc  Everything still in boxes as you can see by the pictures. Interior – I have no seats. Does have a roll bar.  Floor is solid, except for the “bed”. It should be cut out and fitted with new metal.   Exterior – The only rust I can see is the passage side step. Some of the Hat Channel underneath will need to be cut (maybe 3 feet)  Tailgate is orginal, but is pretty rough.  I have no windshield and I don’t believe the hood is org. because there is no Willys stamped on it.”

UPDATE:  I do not know whether this sold or not.  I’ll keep for historical purposes.

Obviously, these don’t appear every day.  Note that this one has been stretched 6 inches, which makes it ideal for placing on a CJ-5 frame.  It appears to have a solid back, like a DJ-3A.
