(04/10/2020) The seller suggests that this is a 1945, but the dash plate looks more like a post column shift (33xxx-45xxx) plate … (has the script “JEEP” and does has the “ONE QUARTER TON FOUR WHEEL DRIVE” slogan rather than the preceding “ONE QUARTER TON FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK”). UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $3250.

It’s got some rough spots, but it runs. Seller uses the hand brake to stop. The hardtop (what’s left of it) may have been a Porter and Reed.

“I didn’t want to sell this but I have to pay for a new truck.

She’s not a show queen, but great around the farm, ranch, and trails. 1950s Willys F-head motor. Motor runs, clutch shifts well, and 4×4 works. Front brake hoses are cracked (available from vintagejeeps.com) so I’ve been using the hand brake. Tubes/tires hold air but are showing their age. Clean CA title on non-op.

Recent carb rebuild and master cylinder rebuild. New spark plugs, points, and condenser. Timing still needs to be set. New Swepco motor oil and oil filter. Electric fuel pump. Headlights, brake lights, and turn signals work. Heavy duty galvanized hardtop. Doors are removable. Glass is good. Rollbar has not been bolted in.

(10/26/2019) It appears the body has had a great deal of work done to it. Certainly not original, but looks like pretty good work. I imagine there isn’t much demand for a Gator-themed CJ-2A.

UPDATE: Still Available.

(03/29/2020) This militarized CJ-2A lacks front frame horns and seems to lack the holes for the CJ-2A positioned key. So, either this has had some work or it’s not a CJ-2A frame and body.

This lacks some gauges and rear lights. There’s no rubber gasket along the windshield bottom.

“I have a 1948 Willys Jeep for sale. It’s a 4×4 and can’t goes through anything. Tires are brand new and runs and drives. Lots of new parts on it and just got tuned up. Freshly painted. Comes with gas can and flag.

I’ve had it at my deer lease and love it. Only selling because I have now have a smaller deer lease and don’t use it. It runs and drives great and I can send a video of me driving up a rocky hill from this week.

The only bad thing is the brakes are giving me trouble right now and don’t always work. Not sure what’s wrong but brakes are very affordable and easy to work on. I just haven’t had time to mess with it. Also it does not have a title because they were military issued. But comes with bill of sale and can get title easily.”
