About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1948 CJ2A 4 wheel drive frame off restoration just about everything rebuilt except motor and transmission and transfer case low mileage bought from original owner new tires brakes paint mil specs cold weather top runs good top speed 60 it prefers 45 call with questions”
Thanks to Prasantha for sharing this auction. Overall seems like a nice rig. There are a few non-stock items, but they are relatively trivial in my opinion.
“This 1946 Willys CJ-2A was reportedly used as an airport tug prior to its purchase by the seller five years ago. It was later refurbished and is finished in Harvest Tan over a tan canvas interior. Power is from a 134ci inline-four paired with a three-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes painted steel wheels, steel bumpers, a trailer hitch, a driver-side mirror and windshield wiper, and a rear bench seat. This CJ-2A is now offered with refurbishment documents and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name….”
“1946 Jeep Willy’s cj2a does not run, I do not have the title however the vin is visible on the firewall so registering shouldn’t be a problem. It has rust and dents but it has potential. Later model F head engine. I have 5 stock wheels I will include with full asking price”
Obviously, the windshield is from an M-38 or a reproduction.
“These are leftover parts from a restoration project I completed. The body is a CJ2A (the tail gate deleted). It’s in overall fair condition, and is still sound with mostly surface rust. However some “Bondo body work” was done to it and it’s quite thick in some places.
The hood is still in great shape with only a light layer of Bondo on top. It does have the traditional Willys script on it, and will fit most flat fender era Jeeps.
The fenders are CJ2A style, but should fit most flat fender era jeeps. They are also in good condition with little to no Bondo.
The windshield is in the best condition, with no Bondo, and the, presumably, original glass. It’s most likely an M38 windshield, but would fit any of the flat fender jeeps.
I was going to build another jeep, but as it turns out I’ve gotten too busy and it’s time to clean up the drive way. Sold as a bundle deal.”
(10/22/2019) I’d like to see some more pics of this one. Has a fiberglass body.
“This vehicle is for show. Has won many awards. Chevy 383 stroker engine. Original transmission and rear end. Custom exhaust. New fiberglass body. Yellow paint. Additional custom features. Has been in the family since original purchase in 1946. No second party representatives”
