Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Willy’s Jeep. Has a newer 350 engine. Automatic transmission. Runs great. Cosmetically it can use a makeover. Tires are older but still have rubber. Winch works great. No other accessories or hard top. 4×4 $3000 OBO. Would like gone before snow flies.”

“Runs and drives. Just replaced all four wheel Cylinders and brake master cylinder both front brake hoses and brake lines. Has Chevy 350 engine, has original front and rear axles and transfer case. Just replaced with a brand new complete distributor cap,rotor, wires. New exhaust header gaskets. Have pink in hand. Jeep is on. None-opp Trans Gm 3813389 Sm420. This is what I have found on line and the casting #’s on the side of the manual trans”

It looks like it has a DJ-3A convertible body and a DJ-3A grille.

“No paperwork. Jeep has been setting for 20 years. It took a bit to the front. Frame is repairable. Trans to transfer case is broken but might be repairable.”
Listed as a 1951, it looks like a CJ-2A.

Body is in “great condition”?
“Rare find willys jeep cj2a flat fender WWII style civilian jeep. Body is in great condition for its age. The stories it could tell. Had a motor swap done at some point in its life and was upgraded to the higher output f4 hurricane 4 cylinder. I installed 2″ lift shackles and 33/10/15 super swamper tires. Also has roll bar and some extra lights. Right now it is not starting and needs fuel tank, battery, cap and rotor. Was running and driving just couple years ago. I’ve owned it since 2008 and hate to let it go. Need the cash for bills and car repairs”
