Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I can’t tell if the side has been patches or there’s just a funky shadow.
“1946 CJ2A – runs, starts and stops. Rebuilt carb, replaced water pump, rewired electrical system, rebuilt starter. Comes with extra rim and tire. I have owned for the last three years and have done all the above work. Cash only.”
The rear of the body has been wrapped with a sheet of metal.

(08/08/2016) Looks solid. Drain holes have been filled.
“Frame off restoration to near original condition. Rebuilt original engine, transmission, transfer case, starter, and carburetor. New wiring (old style), springs, socks, clutch, tires, gas and brake lines, and more. Converted to 12v but, looks like original 6v system.”

I’m just testing the waters here with my 1948 Jeep CJ2A, thinking of something different and clearing up garage space. This is a decent project Jeep, and lots of fun, but it’s not show car quality. Frame off rust removal, painting and hole patching has been completed. This Jeep is 90% complete and it does run. New wires, lights, battery, plugs etc. what it needs for completion is a brake job, replace rotted rubber fittings in the brake system, a new gas tank, gauges, and seats along with some other little things I can’t think of now.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $2500. Has been recently painted (was a cammo style). Has no drive train.
