Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Bought this jeep to restore but do not have the time or space for it since I am moving. Needs work but runs and drives. Ford Jeep Buick 231 V6, Muncy 4 speed rebuilt at Jamies Transmission in Snohomish and has less than 10 miles on it. Detroit Locker in rear, Dana 44 rear, new spider gears in front, new front brakes and cylinders, newer Holly 480 truck avenger carb, brand new matching spare, snow wheeling chains(was used in Oregon) and collector plates. It does need a roll bar but actually ready to drive away.”

Seller believes this to be only one of 30 1946 CJ-2As left. That’s only off by 71,500 (and change) jeeps produced that year. Has a fiberglass tub.

“1946 CJ2A in good condition. Engine turns over but the fuel pump failed about 2 weeks ago. All ‘original’. Currently inspected and street legal. New electronic ignition, new fuel gauge sender, restored oil bath air cleaner, like new tires, new battery, and in over all good condition.”
