(04/09/2016) Engine is frozen. Top looks solid.
“Hi, here we have a 1947 cj2a, (123179), very much complete, dents here and there, rust as well, nothing that cant be fixed, THE 4 TIRES ARE BRAND NEW, FROM AMERICAN SPECIALTY TIRES, the windshield is the type that could be open horizontally, I didn’t try to open it, the engine L134, is frozen, and it came from a supersonic, at least that is what the head reads, the 6 volt electrical system has to be redone completely , transmission and transfer case appear to be okay, all the gears engage non running, ORIGINAL COLOR WAS YELLOW.
This is a great summer project, this is for restoration, I was going to do it but I need the money for college, tow bar not included.
Originally from Arizona, now it is in the California dmv system, NO LATE FEES, NOT DUE FEES, I PAID TRANSFER AND EVERYTHING ELSE, I JUST NEED TO PHYSICALLY TAKE IT TO THE DMV FOR THEM TO CHECK THE VIN NUMBER, SOLD AS IS, NO REFUNDS, THANK YOU.”
Doesn’t appear to run. It’s Serial number appears to be 91296. Not positive about that last number.

Unusual seat setup. The drain holes have been plugged.”
I helping my Grandpa sell his 1946 Willys-Overland CJ-2A Jeep. He bought it in 1986 and it has seen light use as a trail ride vehicle since that time. The jeep has the original L134 “Go Devil” engine, and it still runs very well. The body is in fair shape for a 70 year old vehicle, with some dents, dings, and small a rust spot or two, but no major rust or rotted out holes in the body. During the time that he owned it, my Grandpa made several repairs and upgrades, most of them within the last 3-4 years.
-Converted 6-volt electrical system to 12-volt
-Rebuilt starter
-New gas tank
-New muffler and tail pipe
-New tires
-New brake shoes
-New brake wheel cylinders all around
-New brake master cylinder
-New front axle shafts and u-joints
-New front axle steering pinions
-New steering wheel shaft and worm gear
-New tie rod ends and drag links
This jeep would be a great addition to your hunting shack or cabin, or a good start for a project vehicle. Contact me if you’d like to take a look. Thanks!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.
Runs and drives.
“Clean title. Runs with original flathead motor. 12 v conversion”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(09/26/2015) Here’s something unusual. Runs and drives, but not street legal at the moment.
“Here is a cool one- 1948 Jeep CJ2A for sale. I bought this last year from a guy who
started to restore it mostly engine work then quit. I took it a few steps further just for
some fun to do work. Following are where it is condition wise:
motor starts and runs really good. no smoke. Oil pressure is20lbs idle up to 40lbs higher rpm.
12 volt system. 100 amp alternator installed. new point/condenser. Timing/dwell checked.
Radiator flushed/new anti-freeze. Runs a nice 170 degrees.
All new wheel cylinders and brake lines. New master cylinder. New fuel pump.
new gas tank. Old tires replaced with good used ones. Brakes work good.
2 wheel/4 wheel drive. Transfer case in/out shifter. Wiring harness is all there and
decent shape. Just needs to be chased out to make sure all wires are complete with
good connections. Lights and turn signal no work yet. gages all work.
Now for the body—- she was plenty rusty. Had previous body work done.
Wasn’t interested in the time and cost of new body, so I painted it ( paint/reducer/hardner)
like in the body shops, then bolted on 3/4 in plywood panels as you see in pics.
Packer green and gold. Cool woody jeep.
This is what you need if looking for a 4 wheeler on the farm, your property up north,
or your back yard. Get the lights working and license it for street use.”
