Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a 1943 Ford GPW & a 1948 CJ2A for sale. Titles for both. Been over 5 years since either has been running. The 43 Ford was driveable when I bought it 6 years ago. It is complete with wrong engine-has 60’s model 4 cyl. Tub needs replaced-bondo.
The 48 CJ needed a transmission which I have replaced but is missing rear drive shaft. Has original flat head 4 cyl engine which was running 6 years ago. Floor needs replaced in tub.”

“Got a 46 Willys jeep that runs but needs more work. Has soft top, doors and back seat. Big tires but brakes need work or drum replaced. Has clean title and some rust too but I will through in a sheet metal for back floorboard. Will trade for bee keeping equipment like suit, extractor, smoker and hives that equal value of Jeep. “1947 original Willy . Restored in 1992 original body and motor. Have receipts for most service and repairs done.No body damage, some rust on chrome. Has soft top and cover. Tow bar and jack are mounted. Newer upholstery and off road tires. Hard to start right now, timing is off. Has new carbuator, fuel pump, plugs.”

“I REPEAT, THIS “VEHICLE” HAS NO TITLE. NOR DOES IT HAVE SERIAL NUMBER PLATE.
Now that that is out of the way, I have this CJ2a project for sale. As you can tell by the pictures, it is rough. I’d just call it “parts on wheels”.
What you see is what I have. There’s no engine but the transmission and transfer case are present. Axles. Tailgate. Tub is rusty. The frame looks okay – I was going to use it – can’t see any cracks – but you won’t know for sure until you tear it down and blast it. Warn hubs.
The best part is that it comes with a second tub that is very clean. It is in need of isolated rust repair and metal replacement in spots where it was cut-up. This is a package deal, I will not sell one without the other.”
