Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Seller lists this as a ’46 in two spots, a ’47 in a third spot, and as a CJ-3A. To top it off it has a MB grille.

It runs.
“This Jeep has been in the family for a long time (since 1974) and has been used primarily at a ranch in south Texas as a hunting vehicle.
The engine runs good and to our knowledge the engine is in good shape. It does need some work and time put into it, so we are selling it as a project. We don’t have a use for it anymore, but it would make a great project for someone that has the time to fix it up.”

“I bought this rig about 1-1/2 ago for the fiberglass body for another project. It did not have the motor or transmission at that time. It has a Ford 5.0 HO Roller Cam motor with GT-40 Heads and ford motorsport E303 Cam shaft, Edelbrock performer intake and edelbrock 625 cfm CARB and Street rod drop Headers. Has 120amp alt, small high torque starter. The transmission is a C-4 transmission has been gone thru by Transaction transmission in Forest Grove.
It is a 2 wheel drive, has front solid axle and updated steering “old school” has a Camaro 10 posi rear end. Has power vacuum assist brakes.
Previous owner said curb weight was 2140 LBS with conservative 275 Horsepower =7.78lb/hp
That translates into just plain FUN.
What it needs left to do, install electric fuel pump, transmission cooler, Aluminum radiator, I have all the parts new just sitting there and ready to go.
Exhaust needs done yet.
I’m willing to split the deal if someone wants fiberglass body or engine and transmission if the offer is right. I’m scared to think the amount of money I have in this my loss your gain.”

“1946 Willys Jeep CJ2A. All original, 92% complete. Has rare column shift. Motor is set up. Missing the air cleaner and tool box top. Good candidate for restoration. No title but has all vin tags/numbers for registration. Original 16″ wheels included (not currently on vehicle). Someone stole this CJ-2A. If you see the jeep for sale, either email me directly or contact the poster of this theft @ 5757700180. Listed as a 1942, it’s obviously a CJ-2A.
“Some lowlife took this motorless 42 Willys from Taos, Nm, sometime between Monday 5/26 and Saturday 5/31… there is a reward for information leading to its return.
Update: a witness saw a +/- 2000 1 ton red Dodge flatbed with my Willys on a fifth wheel trailer heading north out of Taos on Saturday 5/31… any and all information would be appreciated.”
