About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Listed at as 1950, it’s clearly got a CJ-2A body. Needs tranny (and more).
“NO transmission. Don’t know where it’s at. Motor ran last time it was tried. Haven’t tried it yet. Needs tranny and some maintenance. Priced right for deer camp. Nope, no title and I don’t know what year model.”
“Newly machined and rebuilt L134 ,4 cyl engine. 250 miles , NEW guages, springs, exhaust, military tires. Garaged. Complete great running drivetrain jeep for fun. Great for July 4th parades. US MARINES displayed. I have a canvas top to include. Dependable and fun! Must sell some of my toys!……….$5,900 neg”
“Selling a 1947 Willys Jeep. It’s been painted army camo colors. The motor is tight, but I pulled the plugs out and it looks pretty shiny and new in the motor..I was going to turn it into a little project, but have too many others. No title…sold as is..and no low ball offers, I’ve already been offered $900, but know its worth more. To repeat..this is a Willys Jeep, not an Army one.”
Here’s the jeep:
This is how it looks in 2013 (front bumper and steps look the same):
“1947 Willys CJ 2A Jeep with 47,000 actual miles. Complete Frame -Off Restoration. 12 volt electrics. All original rebuilt #’s matching drive train. Repainted original color. No rust anywhere. This Jeep was puchased induluth, MN in 1947, and I am the 3rd owner. Strarts, runs, and drives perfectly. Rebuilt steering sector and suspension. You can twice this amount for a UTV that is not street legal and will be worth 1/2 of what you bought it for in 5 years. Jeeps appreciate!! Non-original rims and tires, new seats, wipers, and gauges. Everything works and a blast to drive”
I think the seller will have to drop the price just a bit on this one!
“40’s model Willys jeep. Buick V-6. Radiator was stolen. It also has a missing alternator. The motor still turns. The rag top may be salvagable. 4-speed tranny.”
(05/16/2014) Hasn’t run this year. Appears worth a look.
“1947 Jeep Willy’s manual transmission title : parts only
very good condition, very solid with very little rust
mostly original with all working parts
original 4 cylinder runs good, 4 wheel drive works well
all lights work.
has not been run this year, could use a little TLC but I don’t have the time.
Give me a call if your interested.”
Family owned since new. It doesn’t run. Not 100% original, but is worth a look.
“Original body and parts. Has tow bar and 285 lb steel weight front bumper. In same family since first bought. Currently not running so will need some work, but it’s a classic. 2500 OBO”
“I have a 48 willys jeep it has some kind of Gm 6 cylinder in it. Had it running last year but can’t seem to get it going this year. Needs some work for it to be safe to drive around on the streets. It is in pretty good shape for as old as it is. Don’t really wanna get rid of it but don’t have the money to fix it up.”
