This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “For Sale 1948 Willys/Jeep CJ-2A
Has a v6 engine in it, otherwise it seems to be an original antique. Needs work or good for parts, (will give a bill of sale, but do not have a title) come look and make offer. It has been sitting for many years. Also will consider trades on 3 point hitch tractor equipment, box blade, bush hog, finish mower, . . . Or generators 5kw or larger, gas welders, small cars.”

“This is the classic Willys CJ2A that represents the first year the CJ (Civilian Jeep) was introduced (after wartime production). It has been restored and runs beautifully. Not a bit of rust. All new wiring, all new brake system, rebuilt starter, rebuilt transfer case, all new gauges, all new 12V electrical parts (converted from original 6V by previous owner), new muffler, just about everything new. Odometer wasn’t working so not sure of mileage. Clean title. Needs some minor work including horn, windshield wiper motor and some other little things. It doesn’t have a top (there were no tops/doors back then except a bimini style). I don’t recommend this vehicle for young drivers since there are no seat belts or roll bar (also not invented then). This jeep is worth twice what I am asking.”

Definitely needs paint, but there could be value here.

UPDATE: This looks like a good deal for only $500. I’m not surprised this sold quickly.

(02/10/2015) It’s a project. Has some cutlas hubs that look good.
“1948 Willy’s Jeep, Selling Dad’s Jeep, owned since late 60’s, runs and drives, dad rebuilt and overhead valve 4 cylinder engine, I think it was out of a 55 or 56 Jeep and still runs good. The 4 wheel drive is not working because the front differential gears broke, the jeep is in need of some rust repair, as shown in the pictures, the steps and a few places on the sides where some brackets are spot welded. The seats are the original and were re-upholstered years ago, and have been covered, one seat has got sunburned in one corner on the back, the rear cushions have been stored inside and are like new. The Jeep comes with the original engine which was running, it was smoking but know knocks, also have extra windshield, wheels, transmission, bell housing and other miscellaneous parts, new a wiring harness, wiper motor, and fender flares. I have everything loaded on a trailer and will deliver the first 100 miles for free. $1,800.00 OBO”
